LSU student held in threat against Sen. Clinton
Classmate reported he was asked to be part of ‘terrorist act’

updated 6:49 p.m. ET, Fri., May. 4, 2007

BATON ROUGE, La. - A 19-year-old Louisiana State University student was being held Friday on $1 million bond, accused of planning an attack against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

State District Judge Mike Erwin set bond after Richard Ryan Wargo of Shreveport was booked with terrorizing, communicating false information of planned arson and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Clinton, D-N.Y., a presidential candidate, is scheduled to be in Baton Rouge on Saturday to speak at the National Conference of Black Mayors. Police said it was unclear whether Wargo was planning to carry out the alleged attack at that time.

2. She understood EXACTLY what she was saying - she was dog-whistling for the Hate Vote, and didn't
expect this to get picked up nationwide with this kind of negative reaction. Now she's unleashed her surrogates & sycophants to go out with the ridiculous notion that this was really "no big deal." She has not one scrap of decency or shame left.

3. That was KO's main point last night
Every candidate and president knows it's a serious threat and their lives and their family member's lives are always in danger.

9. I'm sure she remembers how Sen. Jesse Helms made cryptic threats against her husband
Edited on Sat May-24-08 01:05 PM by kenny blankenship
--specifically how the Senator from North Carolina told a reporter that Bill Clinton should not visit any military bases "down here" and how the President had better bring along extra bodyguards.

She may also remember how the Pentagon subsequently found it necessary (in 1998) to issue warnings to all personnel, including high ranking officers, against using "contemptuous" language against the Commander In Chief in public communications.

I'm certain she remembers that one lunatic fired an assault rifle at the White House from the front gate and another lunatic flew a fucking private plane INTO the side of the White House. I'm sure she also remembers the constant drumbeat of Clinton hate on A.M. Rightwing talkradio shows that preceded these events.

Few people in America should be better acquainted with the Fire Marshall's warnings than Hillary Clinton, AND YET she has been playing with matches anyway.

14. I forgot about her, God how tragic....you know, if what some people believe
is true that Sen Clinton knowingly used such a reference to ensure fear remained inside voters minds than she must also know that not only is Sen Obama in danger but she is as well, I really cannot believe she would attempt to incite such a horrific act knowing full well it could easily happen to her since she herself has many times been threatened...

I just don't believe she wishes harm to come to Obama in any way shape or form, I think she just wants to win and feels she is more deserving for the seat...

11. A comment like this certainly raises questions about her competence to be president.
I happen to think that she fully intended to say what she said. However, even taking her excuse at face value and giving her the benefit of the doubt, what does such a terrible gaffe say about her abilities to handle the pressures of the presidency?

We've had almost eight years of evil incompetence. The U.S.'s reputation around the globe is in tatters. We must have sensible leaders who can be relied upon not to make incredibly divisive comments supposedly off the cuff.
