Senator John McCain refuses to speak in lecture hall.

There were about 200 American citizens and nobody else in that lecture hall. Why did he refuse to speak? He saw a picture of a noose near the podium...

However, when he realized that the noose was not meant for him, but was just one sign that the audience consisted of KKK members, he went ahead and spoke. He can't afford to lose a whole block of potential supporters now, can he?
