History lesson for Obamabots: RFK was assassinated in June, 1968.
Edited on Sat May-24-08 04:13 PM by Darth_Kitten
It's on a lot of people's minds......people who don't wish ANYBODY hurt.

SAYING that is NOT a crime. WHY not say something POSITIVE about your candidate? Why is it ALWAYS dumping on Hillary? I've never known any poltical campaign so full of crazed righteousness and vitriol tossed at people for little to no reason.

Nothing more pitiful than people who don't know when to just shut up a bit.

36. And damage the chances of unity
at the same time.
I think some of the upset is genuine. Very little. Most of it is borrowed emotion from the TV bloviators and the "opinion leaders" in the media. As we know - they love this stuff.

And it seems many people need to be taught what to feel and think. that is what is actually alearming about this "tempest".

12. You know what is sad.. partisanship has blinded people
she put her feet in her mouth and drove them in, hard... and earlier on, so did others

Hey did you approve of the Huckster's so-called joke?

It is in the air

So instead of you insulting many folks who looked at HER statement and went WTF? You should be asking why is it that she's said this before? Why is it that the Huckster made that joke in front of the NRA? and other such things

And in the US POLITICAL assassination did not start with Bobby, or Malcolm X or JFK... it has a long history... that is why HER choice of words was poor to say the least

What is sad is that blind partisans cannot see why this is a problem, REGARDLESS of who says it.

17. She picked the absolute worst way to phrase her point since she had successfully made the same point
w/o using the word "assassination" before. A lot of it is people who already have bad views of Clinton just like a lot of the worst outrage about "sweetie" and "bitter" came from people who have bad views of Obama. In this case, it's just a matter of numbers. There are many more Obama supporters here. It would be like going to Hillaryis44 and telling them to get over "sweetie".

it was a VERY poor choice of words? And that though many of us do NOT believe she meant anything bad to happen to Senator Obama, it sounds pretty morbid? I think the defense of the words are helping fuel the anger. Because there is no defense of it other than, she made a mistake. God help us if the shoe were on the other foot.

this is one of the nastiest posters here, and she makes it a practice to stalk people via PM. I have never seen anything but nasty, disagreeable posts from her. and she's not even from the United States. Plus I believe just about everyone in this thread is on her ignore list--she can dish it out, but can't take it, a real juvenile 4th-grader. A truly despicable, worthless non-contributor to anything useful.

33. Mark Shields pointed out a history lesson for Hillary
the first primary in that campaign was May 1968. It was not an endless campaign like this one which began in January.

Not to mention the fact that Bill had wrapped up the nomination by mid-March and finalized it on April 7th when he won the New York primary and his only remaining rival, Jerry Brown came in 3rd behind a candidate who had already withdrawn, Paul Tsongas.

42. Her campaign has been the most divisive campaign that I can remember
regarding attacking one Democrat over another.

This inane comment she made in South Dakota, is just a long line of idiotic statements that have come from her camp

From comparing she and mccain as qualified to be president, but Obama "just a speech"

to playing the race card in a most overt and blatant way, has demonstrated to me who the Clinton's are

Even if she didn't mean that she wished Obama ill with her assasination comment, so she would be the nominee, it was a stupid thing to justify an argument why she should stay in the race

Justifying it on the grounds that every vote must count, or that the primaries must run there course are all legitimate, but throwing crap like this into the pot, indicates to me that she isn't a very clear thinker

In a similar way when Obama critisizes mccain because he didn't vote for the GI bill, mccain's response is to attack Obama because he didn't serve. How does that justify mccain's vote?

BUT just what does this have to do with Hillary staying on to fight...except that "accidents do happen." Hillary has run one of the most undisciplined campaigns in history. She is frequently off message. People who aspire to be president don't say stuff like this...and the biggie "I have no reason to believe he is a muslim." Please don't go away mad...just go away.
