The Audacity of Class
About a month ago, I remember logging on to DU, only to find that my candidate of choice (Sen. Obama) made some remarks that, if read completely out of context) would have been very damaging to his campaign. Would all of the hard work that was done by him and his supporters all blow up only to lead to the eventual demise of his campaign?

Well, it seems as if though expecting his opponent to rise to his defense would have been too much, seeing as though instead of swiftly and forcefully denying claims that he was this alleged "out of touch, latte liberal," she would have at least offered some clarity to his statements to put out those media flames. However, the exact opposite happened, and I began to reflect on the course of this campaign and how "giving the benefit of the doubt" has never been a staple of at least one of the remaining candidates.

This, more than anything else, is why I support Senator Obama. Gutter politics has never solved real American issues, and scoring political points will never reach the masses of people who so desperately need a President that is above the lies, distortions, and petty sandbox games.

There are only five minutes remaining in the last quarter, and we all know who will be crowned the winner. Isn't it about time that we ALL took a page from that book and started to elevate the level of political discourse?

2. Yes, and it goes both ways.

I'm not particularly happy with Keith Olbermann's picking up on every flaw or misworded statement Hillary makes either. To me, the very word 'human' implies having lots of flaws. Everyone makes mistakes.

We are all individuals with different ways we want to approach things, and we all feel strongly about our choices, so focusing on the personal flaws of others excessively is just unenlightened and immature.
