Clinton Chairman Says Nominating Fight Might Go Through Summer
Clinton Chairman Says Nominating Fight Might Go Through Summer

<snip>

May 25 (Bloomberg) -- Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman said a fight over delegates might continue until the Democratic Party's nominating convention in August.

Terry McAuliffe said he wants delegates from Florida and Michigan to be seated at the convention and allowed a full vote for the nominee. The states were stripped of their convention votes after they broke national party rules earlier this year.

``We are prepared to fight this so that all 50 states are included, that the delegates be seated,'' McAuliffe said on the ``Fox News Sunday'' program. ``Let's have no questions about that. This race is still very close.''

Illinois Senator Barack Obama, 46, has the lead in delegates to the nominating convention and has all but declared victory. Clinton, 60, argues that she is the better candidate to beat Republican rival John McCain, an Arizona senator, in the general election in November.

On May 31, the Obama and Clinton campaigns will take their case to the Democratic National Committee Rules and Bylaws Committee, which will decide whether delegates from Michigan and Florida will be allowed to cast votes for the nominee. Clinton aides have said the campaign will appeal any decision that's not to its liking. The final Democratic nominating contests are on June 3.

1. Hey, she won her senate seat
because something bad happened to her opponent late in the game. Why not hold out on this and hope for a rerun?

15. Sure
In 2000, her opponent for the senate was Rudy Giuliani. He developed cancer and had to drop out.

17. And replacement Lazzio...
literally fell face first in a parade, and her later opponent had a bad attack of the stupids.

4. Danica Patrick Insists She'll Keep Driving Around Track Even if She Loses Indy 500
by Larry Madill
Sun May 25, 2008 at 09:43:11 AM PDT

Today at the Indianapolis 500 Danica Patrick, IndyCar's premiere Female Driver, insisted that she would keep driving around the track affectionately known as the Brickyard even if she lost today's race.

"You can't win it unless you are in it," she said. When questioned on what was the point of driving around a track after you've lost the race Danica responded, "Well, see the race isn't over until all the cars cross the track at 550 miles." Then she insisted that the Indianapolis 500 was actually the Indy 550 according to crew chief, Terry McAuliffe's own map of the racetrack.

"You know a lot of people want me to get out of the race," Danica Patrick said, "I can't really figure it out. I don't know why...In 1995 Jacques Villeneuve didn't win until the last lap of the race and in 1974 Swede Savage died before he could finish the race. So I couldn't answer -- Couldn't tell you why people want me to get out."

Danica Patrick refused to answer speculation that she would be joining Team Alegre - MYDD Racing next year.

9. if she can't win, she'll see to it that NO DEM wins
and think of Bill's ego. He can't like the idea of being beaten by a junior senator
who actually really is black.

10. The same Terri McCauliffe
From this link: Link

This was not the first time Michigan had challenged the Democratic Party’s nominating schedule. Four years earlier, Michigan threatened — in the words of the state’s respected, but highly exercised, U.S. Sen. Carl Levin — to go “outside the primary window.”

The Democratic national chairman, in a very heated exchange in Levin’s office, told the senator, “If I allow you to do that, the whole system collapses, we will have chaos.”

An unconvinced Levin challenged the chairman, “You won’t deny us seats at the convention.” To which the Democratic chairman fired back: “Carl, take it to the bank. They will not get a credential. The closest they’ll get to Boston (the convention city) will be watching it on television.”

The Democratic chairman in 2004 who used the credible threat of massive retaliation, the loss of convention influence, was the irrepressible Terry McAuliffe.

11. Hillary and some of her supporters are slipping into a deep and dangerous delusion
that they MUST destroy Obama at any cost. If the Democratic Party doesn't realize this, perhaps they should read this thread and visit the numerous websites her rabid supporters have started to undermine the DNC and the Party as a whole. They all need to be put out of their collective misery.. then they can go cozy up to Rush and Hannity and stop polluting the Democratic Party.

But but but -- Wolfson said this morning that
she has a 2 pronged goal. Winning the nomination (with smoky back room deals threats) and uniting the party.

13. When I see this kind of thing, all thoughts of allowing her to bow out gracefully and with her
dignity intact go out the window. She needs to get a rude awakening and be thrown out of this race on her ass. I don't think anything less will get through to her.

No, dude, it won't. Your time is better spent polishing that resume - after having helped run this idiot's campaign further into the ground, you aren't exactly a most valuable player to be traded around out there.

A legend in her own mind spawns a baby legend in his own mind - Terry, dude, you are so talking to yourself now.
