Why does it come so easy for the Clinton's to play the victim card?
Edited on Sun May-25-08 02:44 PM by gabeana
Her words were not taken out of context. She knew what she was saying said it more than once, just like Tuzla. Her gaffes are not a one time event. If the media was so hard on her why does it take the 3rd or 4th time for it to catch on. Does she want Obama to get taken out with violence, Of course not. She is not evil but she did not calculate the reaction and really who can blame her, the press has been treating her with kid gloves. Since she has been crying about her treatment. Using SNL as a reference in a debate. Wasn't she the one who said if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. Lately she is nothing but a hollow catch phrase.

by the way at Daily Kos nice little tidbit about Montana

Montana's huge black population gives Obama the edge

'Cause she's not playing with a full deck.
Her deck contains only four cards: Victim, race, sexism and gender.

15. What a divisive, sexist, racist comment. You must be for Obama.
I say that, because the only divisive, racist, sexist, wingnut-style dialogue I see is coming from Obama supporters like you.

1. In order to calculate a reaction, you have to empathize well enough.

11. The other Kennedy's don't count since a large
part of the family doesn't support her. It was just announced that Teddy has a tumor. The Kennedy's are bigger than just RFK, Jr who I do admire, just don't like his horse in this race

9. You might enjoy this snippet from MTP today on Hillary's victim card...
MS. DOWD: I think it's poppycock, really. I mean, Hillary Clinton has allowed women to visualize a woman as president for the first time, in the way Colin Powell allowed people to visualize an African-American. And she dominated the debates, she, she proved that a woman can have as much tenacity and gall as any man on earth. We, we can visualize her facing down Ahmadinejad. But the thing is, Hillary hurts feminism when she uses it as opportunism. And she has a history of covering up her own mistakes behind sexism. She did it with health care right after health care didn't pass. She didn't admit that she was abrasive or mismanaged it or blew off good advice or was too secretive. She said that she was a Rorschach test for gender and that many men thought of a female boss they didn't like when they looked at her. And now she's doing the same thing, and it's very--you know, in a way it's the moral equivalent of Sharptonism. It's this victimhood and angry and turning women against men and saying that the men are trying to take it away from us, in the same way she's turning Florida and Michigan and riling up and comparing them to suffragettes and slaves. And it's very damaging to feminism.

MS. IFILL: Just something, keep in mind what her audience is at this stage. Her audience, assuming she's trying to get out of this campaign with something intact and with some sort of power base intact, her audience is the truly, deeply angry women out there, who I run into, and I know who you hear from, who say, "How could you do this to us? They believe that Hillary Clinton is not the beginning of the road, but the end of the road for women in--and--with a shot at the White House. My thinking is, we didn't know two years, or we never heard of, a couple years ago that Barack Obama would be in this position. We didn't know eight years ago that she was going to be in the Senate. So things change a lot. But the despair and the anger and the fury about this is real. And that's what she's speaking to.

MS. GOODWIN: But, you know, despair and sadness is understandable, but resentments, when you let resentments fester, I think it poisons a part of you. And what you don't want women to take away, instead of seeing her as a champion who actually did some great things for women, see her instead as a victim, it doesn't help the next women coming along. So I just wish those resentments could go on--could go away.

17. Folks, when MoDo and all the other pundits are on your side, you're on the WRONG side!!
Wake up!

What is happening to Hillary is a repeat of what happened to Gore and Kerry -- the press has combined together to do what it can to take her down.

Didn't you see this same thing in 2000?

Didn't you see it in 2004?

Do you think the MSM and the people who own them have changed?

The media knows that Hillary is the bigger threat, just as Dean was in 2004. So the press knocked off Dean in a despicable way to madk sure Kerry was the nominee. Then they knocked off Kerry.

History is repeating itself. But this time Democrats are not only watching it happen, they are in bed with the GOP and the MSM to make SURE it happens.

12. Because WHO is going to openly challenge her on any of this?
that's how all politicians with "establishment connections" can operate and the conservative owned media isn't going to challenge their statements, especially when the ugly truth behond their statements is reprehensible and damaging.

19. Maybe she plays the victim because she IS A VICTIM!!!!!!!!!!
Edited on Sun May-25-08 03:38 PM by Auntie Bush
Dah!

She's a victim of the Media, Olbermann, Tweety, all of MSNBC, CNN, FOX, misogynists who hate strong woman, Kos, the whole internet, all of TV, the Times and all magazines etc. etc. etc.! When have you ever seen one nice or positive thing said about her? I can't remember one! So no wonder she feels like a victim...which she didn't say...you did?!

If the turtle complains, "I never win any races because my legs are too short?" Is he playing the victim? No! He's explaining...If she has legitimate complaints she is explaining what happened and why...not playing the victim. That's just your way of interrupting things...not mine! And not the other half of the country that still voted for her. I'm frankly amazed she has gotten as many votes as she has with all the negative press and their the ones who lead this country into thinking like we do. Remember the majority voted to go to war. Do you think the press had anything to do with that? Naawww!

22. How is she victim
from her own mouth, quit crying sexism, sexism has nothing to do with it. Shit with her "I'm your girl" she interjects gender into this.

She lied about Tuzla, N.Ireland, Family Leave Act, NAFTA, has nothing to do with sexism

What guts did she show when she refused to read the NIE, and if you vote for her because she is a woman that is sexist, Hypocrites do that.
face it the only reason she is in the position she is is because of her Husband, that does a lot for womens doesn't it?
