they all look haughty and weaselly to me. A wider assortment of facial hair. Sort of like a different breed of Republicans, more "intellectual", yet still stupid in the way only Rs and Ls can be.

I guess I just look at anyone who can have such inane ideas differently.

Thirty years ago, I knew George Phillies, and was surprised when I tuned in to the debate last night to see him up on the podium. Your analysis of "intellectual, yet still stupid" is a triple bull's-eye.

The problem with libertarians and their beliefs is that they ASSume that total equality exists, and if it doesn't, the best way to achieve it is to ignore any inequality until it goes away. They assume that the starving and the employer can negotiate a work agreement on equal terms; they assume that the consumer can negotiate on equal terms with the drug manufacturer, and they assume that the market will immediately punish those that would cheat the public. They must be the easiest people in the world to con, and were I a confidence trickster, their mailing list would be a gold mine.
