HIllary Supportes - May 31st - Million Man & Woman March on DNC?
Hillary supporters know in their hearts that Hillary is the better candidate. Also, based on the polls they refer to on this board, Hillary supporters also know that if Obama runs against McCain, he will lose, and the Democrats will lose. This will lead to:

1. McCain appointing more Supreme Court justices.
2. Increasing the likelihood that the US invades Iran.

Of course, the Obama supporters think that America is willing to vote for Obama despite the oft-cited figures regarding his support amoung white working class Americans, but Hillary supporters know better.

Therefore, this is the chance for Hillary supporters to demonstrate their support for Hillary, as well as prove the strength of their convictions. They can do this by a mass million man and woman march on the location of the DNC Rules committee, and show their support for Hillary.

This is the last chance. If they truly believe that the Democrats will lose if Obama is the nominee, this the time to for them to put it on the line. Otherwise, Hillary supporters are just as responsible for a McCain presidency as the Obama supporters. Indeed, the Hillary supporters are even more culpable, because the Obama supporters think Obama will beat McCain whereas the Hillary supporters know for a fact that he will lose.

The Obama supporters say that Hillary does not have grass roots support. Ron Paul was able to influence state GOP meetings with much less support than Hillary commands in the Democratic party, so if Hillary's supporters mobilize and show the strength of her movement amoung the non-college educated white working class, gun rights supporters, and those who support the gas tax holiday, they can let their voices be heard at the DNC meeting on May 31.

To put it in perspective, the Promise Keepers were able to attract 1 million men to their event on October 4, 1997. Surely, with the Clinton's nationwide support throughout the United States, Hillary's supporters can surpass that and dwarf anything Obama has brought to the table. The Oregon event Obama, which Fox News noted was due to the good music, rather than support for Obama, will pale in comparison. Indeed, since this requires courage to stand for their candidate, I doubt that Obama supporters will make a significant showing on May 31st.

This is the last chance for Hillary Clinton supporters to make themselves heard.

11. You have a crystal ball?
THe election is 5 months away. Some polls show Obama beating McCain, some show him losing. I do not see how you can predict the outcome of the GE with such certainty.

SO do what you will, believe what you must. We shall see what happens in Nov. But if Hillary is the candidate, while I cannot predict with certainty that she will lose, I will not underestimate the importance of Clinton fatigue in the general population.

Blow it out your fucking ass.

The Promise Keepers? What- were you there?

Hmmmm. Betcha don't know what the largest peaceable assembly on the mall in US History was, genius.

Here's a hint: April of 2004. That one probably didn't land on your radar, even if the "Promise Keepers" did.

I was going to say something about "Why don't you put that energy into supporting our nominee", but why the fuck would I even bother with the likes of you.

107. Why is someone allowed to post tripe that has been refuted again and again?
(I'm referring to the OP, not you)

It's pure flame bait to post such fucking nonsense as "which Fox News noted was due to the good music" when that ridiculous notion has been completely crushed.

When you post arguments that have been slapped down and eviscerated again and again, acting as though no one actually posted the other, sane stuff, you're just a flamer.

It's just like Hillary with her "let's hope no one notices" strategy.

Shouldn't this behavior be cause, at the very least, for suspension?

It's indecent and disrespectful.

21. So, let me get this straight,
YOU are advocating taking the nomination away from Obama b/c YOU *think* he cannot beat McCain because the poor, uneducated white voters won't vote for Obama? After he has already secured more delegates than Hillary, has won more of the popular vote, raised more money and won more States.

Do you know how that sounds?

It translates to me as: "We can't take a chance on the black guy because of racists, so we must advocate discrimination by the Democratic Party against the black guy."

Guess what, it isn't gonna happen. We're better than that.

Oh and by the way - what makes you think the racist voters would vote for Hill against McCain?

25. Wrong on so many levels, but I'll start with guns
A Post-Katrina bill introduced by Vitters after NO law enforcement was caught on tape confiscating citizen's weapons. Here's the text of Vitter Amdendment No. 4615, which was voted on in the U.S. Senate at 6:13 PM on July 13, 2006, and was passed and signed by President, Became Public Law No: 109-295. Here's the text: To prohibit the confiscation of a firearm during an emergency or major disaster if the possession of such firearm is not prohibited under Federal or State law.

The amendment, which was attached to a Homeland Security appropriations package, was approved 84-16. The bill itself was signed into law in October 2006.

Clinton voted to confiscate; Obama did not.

directed me to the Olbermann Book Desecration Thread/Forum.. and I think they're more dangerous than FReepers ever thought about being.

They're the ones spreading the filth/rumors about Obama .. he's a Marxist, communist, degrading his parents, manchurian candidate, planning and hosting websites to incite DNC/Party uproars.. I cannot tell you how disturbing it is.

They plan their filth over there.. then bring it here. I worry about the party after Obama "is official". They have been given so much latitude and tolerance, when I feel they are clearly a HATE GROUP promoting HATE SPEECH and god knows what else, that I don't see them quietly slinking back into their dark holes. Hillary promotes this in people. Go figure.

34. How Many Obama Supporters Will Be There? Will They Even Show?
I don't see any efforts by Obama supporters to support him. They just take it for granted that the DNC Rules Committee will see things Obama's way despite the fact that about 50 percent of the committee are Hillary supporters. All Hillary needs is a large visible turnout by her supporters, little turnout by Obama supporters, then she can argue that the Obama movement is starting to peter out, which may give the DNC Rules Committee some political cover to be supportive of her.

The real question is whether any Obama supporters will take the time to put down their lattes and support Obama.

43. Irony - Obama Fans Say Hillary Takes Things For Granted?
Edited on Sun May-25-08 11:11 PM by Median Democrat
This is ironic. After Obama supporters accuse Hillary of acting like a shoo-in, Obama supporters are just going to mail it in despite the fact that Hillary has a solid opportunity with the support of her supporters to get the DNC to recognize the results of MI and FL without any penalty. Every vote must count, right? If the DNC does not go this way, then Hillary can slam the door on the DNC by talking to her Florida and Michigan supporters about how they were disenfranchised. Right now, this is why Hillary, not Obama, is favored to win in these states.

Seriously, do you have any doubt that Hillary will do what it takes to win?

Yes, as you point out, Obama supporters should just stay at home on May 31st. Its a closed meeting anyways, right?

Even if that means the eventual destruction of the Democratic Party.

The Clintons have proved over and over again that they are completely unprincipled. They have no goal other than to satisfy their own ambition. And that's exactly why she should not, and will not, get the nomination.

Karl Rove is that you? You are intentionally trying to have a face off between Obama and Hillary supporters in D.C. so that the entire Democratic party looks like it's shot to hell.

I don't think so.

Obama has won this nomination and there ain't a damn thing a bunch of pots and pans bangers standing outside in DC can do about it. Can you undue almost 200 ELECTED delegates? Can you erase votes? Can you get in the Hillbot Time Machine and go back to March 2008 and undue that ass kicking she got in the voting booth? If not, then I don't think the power elite sitting on the DNC board will or can do anything to save Queen Hillary from her own undoing.

Democracy. It works.

29. Aside from being hilariously and pathetically deluded,
the whole thing sounds thoroughly undemocratic -- kinda like the Republican riot to prevent the Florida recount. They won't get a million people, of course; they won't get enough to fill up FreeRepublic's Porta-Potties -- but the intent is obviously to overturn the decisions of the brazillions of people who voted for Obama in their states' primaries and caucuses, with the result that he has the most delegates and Hillary has no mathematical chance of winning the nomination fairly. So what's the solution? Go to the DNC and try to intimidate them into overturning the will of the voters? Nice.

95. But you still lose.
That's what is insane. You LOSE even when you add Michigan for Hillary and give ZERO votes to Obama in Michigan. You still fucking lose like the sore losers you are. It is a SHAME Hillary is trying to count votes where she was the ONLY person on the ballot. How fucking IDIOTIC and desperate is that?

Obama is so far ahead of you, he still wins when Hillary was on more ballots than him. Get it? If she was SO fucking electable, she would be in his position and he would be in hers. Get it? She lost.

What about the voters in Michigan who could not vote for their preferred candidate because he was not even on the ballot. The entire fucking election is ILLEGITIMATE. It is a sham. It is a bogus exercise in NOTHING. No fair interpretation of the thing could lead to anything remotely suggesting that an actual election took place. The votes didn't count BEFORE the "election". The votes didn't count during the "election". The votes don't count now. The votes won't count May 31 in the way that Hillary Castro wants them to be counted. Who the fuck is she? Hillary Chavez now? This is a fucking democracy here. If HER voters got the chance to vote, why not Obamas? You can't be serious to think that ANYONE would stand for it.

Your angry mobs won't sway courageous and thinking people. If you so call "enfranchise" Hillary's voters in Michigan, you would be "disenfranchising" Obama's voters by not giving him a SINGLE VOTE. Are you fucking INSANE? That wouldn't stand. She wouldn't stand. And you can COUNT on marches in the streets if the DNC had suddenly fell and cracked its proverbial head and awarded Hillary those delegates out of Michigan without awarding Obama anything. You can bet that.

Furthermore, since when does Hillary fucking Clinton get to decide when rules apply or don't apply to her? The rules are the fucking rules. If the ONLY way you can "WIN" is to finagle around the rules, break them, play on the fears and emotions of voters, play the gender card, and disenfranchise voters by so-called "enfranchising" voters, then you need to really get a fucking clue.

134. They aren't being "held hostage" at all, that's the
stupidest thing I've read here in a long time (and that's saying a lot!). MI and FL went directly against the rules even AFTER being specifically warned that they were going against the rules and AFTER they were told that the primaries wouldn't count if they DID go ahead with it. They went ahead anyway, like spoiled children testing their parents. Those who voted should have been fully aware of the strong possibility of their state's primary not counting for the nomination because of the direct and willful violation of the rules. Were I in MI or FL, I wouldn't be angry at the DNC and threatening to make a fool out of myself by banging pots and pans in the middle of the street with three or four other people. I'd be angry at my state's Democratic party leadership for wilfully and directing violating the rules KNOWING THAT THE VOTES WOULDN'T BE COUNTED IF THEY WENT AHEAD WITH THE EARLY PRIMARIES.

And let's be honest here, Hillarites. You wouldn't even be considering this if the votes hadn't gone your way. In fact, you'd be jumping up and down and screaming, along with your Queen, about the "unfairness" of it, since they "didn't follow the rules." Fucking bloody arrogant hypocrites.

58. Anyone who sincerely thinks Hillary is the better candidate is deluded.
The fact that she's lost is evidence that she isn't. The weakness of her campaign and her fundraising operation relative to Obama's is evidence that she isn't. The fact that Obama appeals to independents and she doesn't is evidence that she isn't.

And fun fact: No Democrat has won a majority of white working-class Americans since 1964. Bill Clinton received thirty-eight percent of the white vote. Talking about that as a metric that determines Democratic success in Presidential elections is pure fantasy.

61. Well, she's obviously NOT the better candidate.
Or as she once predicted, she would have had this thing wrapped up with a pretty bow on top by Super Tuesday, wouldn't she?

But she didn't. She's LOST. It's spelled L-O-S-T. It's spelled the way it's pronounced and it's pronounced the way it's spelled. It has a bit of a short o vowel sound, almost a schwa. Try it out loud: "SHE LOST. HILLARY CLINTON LOST."

My advice is to say that a few times (out loud!) upon awakening each day and then remind yourself as needed during the day when delusions start to take hold again.

You say that "Hillary supporters also know that if Obama runs against McCain,
he will lose". No, they don't know that. They just believe that. You lose credibility by claiming
knowledge about the future that nobody has. Your claim to know the future is not a good reason for people to follow you. In fact, it's a reason to not take you seriously.

Speaking of which, what's the point a silly march asking DNC to change what was agreed just to benefit the woman candidate now? This is not a civil rights cause. This will just make the protesters look foolish and hurt the party.

Oh, maybe that's the point. You're so concerned that McCain would lead to overturning Roe v. Wade if he wins that you'll make it in the end more likely that he wins in your quixotic attempt to keep the Clinton campaign's fantasy alive.

106. Better candidate, bull. The way she has run her campaign more than demonstrate that falicy
Her votes on the IWR and the Kyle/Lieberman ammendment question her judgement

and her remarks stating she and mccain are qualified to be president, but Obama is just a speech, demonstrate her tendency to self-destruct

She is on a suicide mission right now, and she could care less what happens to the country or the party in the process

now I see where you are coming from and it isn't for the Democratic party.

this also speaks volumes about your true motivations for this post:

"so if Hillary's supporters mobilize and show the strength of her movement amoung the non-college educated white working class, gun rights supporters, and those who support the gas tax holiday, they can let their voices be heard at the DNC meeting on May 31."

nice try though:eyes:

119. Oh my. This is sad.
There's NO WAY a million Hillary supporters will descend on the nations capital. First of all, I don't think there are a million die-hard Hillary folks left. Second of all, most Hillary supporters now know that she is a lost cause and therefore will not go all the way to DC to throw a hissy fit. Third of all, even if the RBC does decide to include Florida and Michigan - OBAMA STILL WINS. So tell me again... WHAT'S THE POINT?

Oh and BTW... do you have a permit to assemble 1 million people in DC? You may find this surprising, but there is a significant security force in DC and they tend to get a little edgy when people assemble for protest without a permit. And I hate to tell you this, but your crew doesn't come off as the most level headed, sane bunch of people. I expect you will become well acquainted with the National Capitol Police force.

And no, Obama people will not descend on the RBC meeting en masse because we have enough sense to know that this is not about a show of force. This is about our party deciding what is RIGHT and FAIR by the rules. We have written our letters and let our voices be heard in a respectful manner, unlike Hillary supporters who have been threatening the committee and superdelegates.

But hey, what do I know? Go ahead with your angry mob. I'm sure Chairman Dean and other party leaders will respond really positively to that.

Good lord. This last gasp certainly is pathetic.

"Hillary supporters know in their hearts that Hillary is the better candidate."

Would that be at all akin to George Bush using his gut to tell him what is right or wrong?

And marching on the DNC? Great idea, you could take notes from the Republicans "marching" on the recount in Florida in 2000 to find out how to disrupt the political process in America.

Worked out great for them, so you should go for it!
