10 Days - 1000 Posts

[The River]

After more than 7 years at DU I've finally reached my 1000th post.
It comes at a time when we are only 10 days away from June 4th and
it comes none too soon. It seems at times that this Primary season
has been going on for years.
Well, the end is finally in sight. Think about it...just 10 days to go.
In 10 days it will be June 4th. The last few States will have had their say
and the will of the people will be known. The uncommitted Super Delegates,
if they have any interest in bringing the Party back together,
will have to speak up quickly and put an end to Clintons scorched earth campaign.
I trust that they will.

As an exercise in patience for that trust, I'm going to refrain from responding to
Hillary supporters for the next 10 days. They can be as delusional,
threatening or angry as they want to be, I'm going to brush it off and laugh to myself.
In 10 days I know they won't have any more excuses for their behavior
The SD's will weigh in, the math will be final.

But, if June 4th comes and goes and Clinton still does not concede or withdraw,
then all bets are off. If after the Super Delegates weigh in and if the math, even including
Michigan and Florida still gives it to Obama and Clinton won't concede, then
we will know several things are true beyond a doubt:

1. She is not really a Democrat
2. It really is all about her ego and lust for power.
3. It's also a proxy fight by the DLC to retain control of the Party and....
4. She's insane.

If such is the case it's going to be a whole new ballgame
for her supporters here at DU.

I'll just patiently wait and see.

Sometimes I feel guilty not having a spare
$20 to send to DU but as a semi disabled vet
without family, every cent goes to staying alive
and saving for the eventual health care emergencies.

I really enjoy DU a lot, even if I don't post much.
It was a great find after the 2000 *bush selection. A whole board
filled with like minded Dems and Progressives.
We have some amazing writers, researchers and
statisticians who help make sense of the political fray.

Its a forgone conclusion she will not quit.(clinton's word)

However, I don't think its a bad idea to keep her contained in a losing nomination bid through the summer.
Shes not going to win, and the supporters can pull away from her over time instead of cold turkey.

She will need to make very loud noises to keep the cameras on,
but the shark jumping will be old news when its finally over.
