Clinton speaks of faith in face of adversity
By DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writer

Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday offered a spiritual defense for continuing her presidential campaign, as she sought to put to rest the uproar over her comments about the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.

Speaking to a full congregation at the Pabellon de la Victoria evangelical church, Clinton spoke in measured terms about faith in the face of adversity.

What next. God told me to continue.

1. Remember the HRC supporters who called Obama a theocrat b/c of his Kentucky mailer?

Wonder what they will say about this one?

For the record, I don't have a problem with Hillary or Obama invoking faith in this manner.

4. She has the right to invoke faith, and it's not that big of a deal. However....
she did show up at an evangelical Protestant church in an island that's overwhelmingly Catholic.

13. shouldn't it be a cross she is tied to.
They are always accussing us of thinking Obama is Jesus, but they are the ones who in classic literature style have painted her as the matyr/christ figure. Sorry, sometimes being an egghead that raised eggheads just brings these references to mind. ;)

I don't think it is supposed to be Christ imagery.

24. I understood that and that is what
I questioned. According to literature any one who is the protrayed as a human sacrifice is the "Christ figure". I have seen too many "He's Jeeeeesus" posts on here these last few weeks in response to anything posted pro-Obama that it kind of sticks in my sub-consciousness.

7. A little more of the article
Clinton is campaigning for Puerto Rico's primary on June 1, which offers 55 pledged delegates to the national Democratic convention. The New York senator is expected to win the contest, thanks partly to her ties to the large Puerto Rican community in her home state.

and more on her gaffe about RFK's assassination

"I was making the simple point that given our history, the length of this year's primary contest is nothing unusual," Clinton wrote. "But I was deeply dismayed and disturbed that my comment would be construed in a way that flies in the face of everything I stand for — and for everything I am fighting for in this election."

We owe her an apology it seems. Geesh, will all the people I ever offended please send me their apologies now, and cash would be even better.

I think the pain is more when you cause it than others. If she had exited the race, she would not have been in this much pain.

11. hilary is fake and this is bullshit. Real Christians don't lie, cheat, and
lie some more. "Adversity"? What about the adversity she sent those soldiers to in Iraq? What about those Iraqis who were bombed with her vote?

hilary doesn't know fucking adversity. hilary's definition of adversity is when she gets caught in another fucking lie.

16. You evidently would have us believe you are a "Real" Christian, yet...
prima facie evidence would seem to indicate otherwise...
or...on second thought, maybe not.

15. Probably so.
I just heard something on this subject that I did not know. They were talking on MTP about Obama working with religious out-reach program. Don't get me wrong, I am not personally religious per se, but I don't have anything against those that truly are.

MR. BRODY: Very comfortable. And the real untold story of this campaign from a faith perspective is what the Obama campaign is doing all across this country with the religious outreach programs. I mean, this weekend they're in Montana, and they're having faith and value discussions--family, faith, value discussions about Barack Obama's faith and all of this other stuff that is in homes across this country; that they're actually having 20 to 30, sometimes a hundred people or so gathering around family rooms, you know, just living rooms and talking about this.

Speaking is David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network, and the link to the transcript is below. This particular bit is on page 5.

23. Look at post 15
He is doing more than putting on a show. I'm not religious now, but I grew up a pastors child and I know the difference between a Chrisian and an Easter/Christmas shower-upper. One works to make things better and one shows up for recognition and attention.

I mean she's lost her fake Southern accent; I'm sure her new PR accent will make it's debut in the next day or so. How long until she continues the pander parade and converts too?
