ok.
it's time for everyone to just stop. Take a breath, smell the roses or what ever it is you need to do and collect your thoughts and emotions.

At this point, it's pretty obvious that Obama is going to be the nominee.

Obama supporters need to reach out to HRC supporters, extend the olive branch, and move on to the GE.

I'll start.

Attention all Clinton supporters:

We are all in this together, in this fight to make sure another republican does not run this country for another four years. If I have offended any of you by any remarks that I may have made (though I always tried not to)I offer my apologies, and would hope that you will throw your support behind Obama with me.

Sincerely,
Maine-ah.

 :toast:

Beer's on me!

Now! Let's work together!

13. God that was a classic scene!
D-Day: War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.

Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Otter: Germans?

Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.

Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...

Bluto: the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!

Bluto: What the fuck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man!
Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...

Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.

D-Day: Let's do it.

Bluto: LET'S DO IT!

I don't give a shit about them. They can go away with Hillary and go away mad. I don't care.

To the rest who will put America and the democratic party first, big group welcome hugs :grouphug:

11. no.
we need to reach out to everyone. We need every vote that we can get because we need to blow the living frig out of the republican machine.

I know it seems difficult, emotions are high, people are angry. We need to put it all aside.

You don't get my support with a threat. Most of the same assholes making those threats probably felt and said the same thing against people who voted for Nader in 2000. Now they feel justified doing the same thing themselves. F**k 'em.

I think things will continue until there is a nominee.
After all this board is for the subject of general primary, and there are only two candidates left. Things will probably continue until this board is gone.

19. I couldn't agree with you more.
It's been awful, and I don't get it. I know that there aren't too many supporters in either camp who would prefer McCain over Clinton or Obama. No way.

Here's something to think about; if Obama gets the nomination, he may want to seriously consider asking Clinton to be his running mate. That ticket would be unstoppable. I know a lot of people out there who are still not sold on Obama, but if Clinton were put in there, it might sweeten the deal for them. I'm surprised how many women, even those who've voted Republican in the last several elections are so gung ho for Hillary. Some of the older crowd are a little leery of Obama's perceived inexperience and are much more comfortable with the thought of Hillary as Prez.

Though, I myself am unsure who Obama should pick as VP, but it's not going to matter to me. Either way it's the Dem ticket for me.

25. I think if they were both on the ticket, pretty much every Dem would vote because
they would not be able to resist voting for their person regardless of their position on the ticket.

22. With some of them, it's no use. Extend the hand, get a rabid bite.
I'm not a pessimist by nature, but it's futile with some of these folks. Ignoring the worst of them until they go away is the better option.

Those who stick around after GDP goes kaboom, now those are the people I'll be happy to work with. No olive branches from me until then.

26. I think this needs to come from a Hillary supporter-accepting reality and apologizing for their
insults of Obama. He's been treating Hillary with nothing but respect and she's been lying about him, saying he's been urgently trying to push her out of the race, and raising the specter of assassination. And BILL Clinton is saying Dems. are participating in a COVER-UP of the "facts" that Hillary's AHEAD and she's the stronger candidate. Until I see even ONE Hillary supporter acknowledging those comments are wrong, I'm not about to be gracious to them.

29. I think it needs to start with us Obama supporters.
We are the ones who now need their vote. I would think that Obama would want us to do it that way. It's time to look ahead, not behind. :hi:

I know I won't be able to convince everyone from both sides, but even if I can convince a few, it's a few more than what we had.

35. There are so many nice Hillary supporters here. Sometimes
that fact gets buried under the very few not as nice ones. And yes, there are a very few not so nice Obama supporters here.

I believe the tone will change as soon as the nominee is decided on officially. Unfortunately, if this continues to the convention, the mood will worsen in GDP.
