If there were as many posts praising Obama as there are posts attacking Hillary, he'd be the nominee
already.

Hey Obama supporters...

How about spending a couple of days posting all the wonderful
traits and accomplishments of Obama? Wallpaper DU with posts
exclaiming his virtues. Promote the positive attributes of
Obama.

You would win over a whole helluva lot more converts than you
are now.

47. Bang is Sexist!!! how dare you say bang in reference to St. Hillary!
and it doesn't matter that it has been virtually impossible for Clinton to win the nomination for more than a month! It's sexist to say she isn't winning!

Even tho she isn't winning and it's as frustrating as hell to see all the denial - it's sexist to call it frustrating! It is sexist to call it sexist. "Is" is sexist too... depending on what your definition of "is" is.

When Clinton stops lying and trying to steal the election, I'll stop venting my anger at her. Deal? sounds fair to me.

12. I'm just sayin.. if it's over, why don't you all talk about how wonderful Obama is?
Edited on Mon May-26-08 06:13 PM by BigBearJohn
Why do you still feel the need to throw shit all over Hillary?
You all are saying Obama is the nominee, so why are you still
harping on Hillary? Why don't you just drop it?

There's an old adage that says "you get what you put your attention on".

The reason Hillary stays around is because you keep putting your
attention on her. It is YOU who keeps creating her candidacy. Why don't
you put your attention on electing Obama? YOU GET WHAT YOU FOCUS ON.
You keep focusing on Hillary -- and boy -- that's what you are getting. ENJOY.

Probably because praising Obama is no fun. It's much more fun to
fling crap at Hillary. Admit it. You're bored. So, you pick on Hillary.

17. Supporters of Senator Obama (well, at least this supporter) are tired of Senator Clinton
Edited on Mon May-26-08 06:22 PM by gristy
I won't list all the reasons - they've been listed so many times before. I wanted to have multiple great candidates to choose from, and early on I did. But good candidates started dropping out. Kucinich, Biden, Edwards... We were left with two. I wish they were both wonderful. I wish I had a difficult choice to make. But for reasons which I'm not listing, but you know of them, I only have one real choice of a candidate right now. The other choice is not a choice at all, and when I see over-the-top defenders of that choice, I admit I do tend to respond in kind. Reasoned defenses of Senator Clinton I do not jump on, and in fact if I see slash and burn replies to reasoned defenses, I have not hesitated in the past to jump in in defense of a Clinton supporter. Nowadays I don't.

On edit, to address some of your points more directly:

Why do you still feel the need to throw shit all over Hillary?
You all are saying Obama is the nominee, so why are you still
harping on Hillary? Why don't you just drop it?

I can't. This is my house too. And if someone is denigrating the presumptive democratic nominee here, then I will step in. If you think I should be able to accept such denigration without response, forget it.

There's an old adage that says "you get what you put your attention on".
Yes

The reason Hillary stays around is because you keep putting your
attention on her. It is YOU who keeps creating her candidacy. Why don't
you put your attention on electing Obama? YOU GET WHAT YOU FOCUS ON.
You keep focusing on Hillary -- and boy -- that's what you are getting. ENJOY.

The reason that Hillary stays around has NOTHING to do with what goes on at DU. Absolutely nothin'.

Probably because praising Obama is no fun. It's much more fun to
fling crap at Hillary. Admit it. You're bored. So, you pick on Hillary.

Senator Clinton has adopted several positions that will not stand. That cannot be ignored by many. You know what they are.

I would love to see a change in tone that would be more successful at bringing Clinton supporters over to Obama. We have WAY too much posting that only serves to keep them on the defensive. It is really hard to embrace Obama when some of his supporters are attacking you and your candidate relentlessly.

16. So why don't you write an informative post, proclaiming all the wonderful things you see Obama doing
Why not show us all the universe that Obama will create for
all Americans.

Put your energy into creating the wonderful state of affairs
that will come about once your leader is elected.

Show us how smart you are. Give us an in depth analysis
of how Obama is going to save the day. Dazzle us with your
brilliance.

For once, elevate our souls with the wonder that is Obama.
Paint us a portrait that we can all sit back and admire in awe.

After all -- both beauty and ugliness exist side by side in this world.
What YOU choose to put your attention on is what you are going to get.

You're helping create this mess. You can CHOOSE to create beauty
and enlightenment.

IT'S UP TO YOU.

24. If ifs and Buts were candy and nuts, it would be Christmas every day.
Every time I've seen a positive post about Sen. Obama, it is ridiculed. Every time any of his supporters extend an olive branch, it is rejected and they are insulted. Some people are sore losers. Sure, it would lovely to take the high road, but on DU, someone will shoot you down quick and in a hurry.

Once a nominee is selected, their will be peace on DU after approx. one week. Not everyone will agree about everything, but their will be some semblance of peace.

54. look, let's get down to brass tacks, shall we? If you have to be persuaded to vote democratic
or you have to be persuaded to vote for the nominee vs. staying home, or voting for mccain, then you aren't worth it. period.

I personally would have voted for Hillary, as much as I don't like her, if she ended up the nominee. That's because I am and have always been a democrat. I would NOT have demanded you persuade me to, I would have already been there, because I know no matter how bad a candidate we put forth, they are light years better than any republican choice.

do you see the difference, then? I'm a democrat. People that demand to be persuaded are people that are threatening to withold their democratic vote.

I have zero respect or tolerance for those that do that.

Never have I ever said that I would not vote for Obama should

My only point of this OP, if you cared to truly understand,
was to recommend that Obama supporters spend more time
promoting their candidate, rather than trying to destroy
Hillary. You gather more bees with honey than vinegar.

But you are on an automatic rant and can't hear anybody

I'm impressed by his intelligence, his willingness to listen (really listen), his ability to inspire. I'm eager for a president with intellectual curiosity and a worldview not limited by a lack of the same.

He hasn't insulted my intelligence or talked down to me. He's assumed I'm perfectly capable of reading and looking into the details where they're available.

He's often taken the high road, even when presented with opportunity to do otherwise.

I like what I've learned of the man. I'm hopeful for what he can bring to this country.

And most of all, I trust him.
