Had she not voted for Bush's war... she'd be president.


Her triangulation tactics ruined her chances. Fear of being called unpatriotic caused her to vote for Bush's a war for profit, she calculated that betraying her values would help her be more electable as a more hawkish candidate.

Now that calculation has turned out to be very wrong.

I think that she was so far ahead in the polls, that she thought she could write off the 'progressive' wing of the party and still win...

She shrugged the primaries, and moved to the right. Normally politicians (of either party) do this once they have secured the nomination, .. and that is expected. She just jumped the gun... fortunately the Progressive wing of the part and the net roots blocked her leapfrog over the primaries.
