Name a country that would rather have mccain as president. Every nation, from our allies to the "enemies" that bush has made want to see progress in US foriegn policy. Things will get much better domestically and overseas when Obama is sworn in.

6. Yes, but they're also financially comfortable with Bush's policies...
...both foreign and domestic.

I'll bet that money trumps any misgivings they might have.

13. no you don't understand their interests are much more long term
they have substantial dollar holdings and they have lost 30% of their wealth because of him. They would love to have his father back but they haven't concealed their unhappiness with Bush - he has consistently ignored their advice and they don't like the lectures they get about human rights. After all they have been through with Bush it really busts their chops to have to sit through a lecture by Rice on driver's lisences for women.

16. They've hd the opportunity to hold their petrodollars in Euros for some time now.
They've chosen not to.

That indicates to me that they're financially comfortable with Bush's policies even though the dollar is taking a beating.

2. Yeah. You go with that in November.
I'll never get over how clueless the young Obamatrons are. How do you think this will help? This is yet another post along the lines of "Parisians love Obama! So vote for him, you stupid Americans!" (That'll help us take Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida for sure! :eyes: )

3. Le Sigh...
Why do people have to resort to name calling to try to get a point across? If you have something constructive to say please do. Calling someone clueless does not help anyone.

I do not care for either Ms. Clinton or Mr. Obama, but I don't see resorting to name-calling as building upon something for November.

When you begin to understand that the world is in this together, you'll have a clue.

9. When YOU begin to understand that the American electorate is not just like you - YOU'LL have a clue-
and take this old memory from a wizened old Hillbot:

Late 80s, Austria faces a Presidential election: as always, it's the Peoples' Party (right-wing) versus the Social Democrats (left-wing.) The People's Party recruited an internationally-well-known candidate: the previous head of the UN, Kurt Waldheim. As the campaign began, the polls were even. But then suddenly, during the campaign, Waldheim's Nazi past was revealed - a bad thing of course -- except for the fact that suddenly the whole rest of the EU started to speak up strongly and vociferously against Waldheim (understandably so.) So what happened, hmmm? WALDHEIM ROMPED TO VICTORY!

And who would you expect to be more OK with being told how to vote by the rest of the world? Mittel-European Viennese - or heartland Americans?
