3. Barr, unless Ron Paul somehow backs Nader.
If Ron Paul shows any support of anybody other than McCain, that candidate will draw Republican votes...possibly to the tune of 4%-5%.

6. Possibly...especially if Paul gets involved.
Ron Paul has, in my estimation, about 4% of Republican voters in his pocket. If he's friendly with Barr, McCain will lose those people.

4. Barr is a nightmare for the Republicans
He's going to peel at least a couple % off their base, and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. :D

7. Nader will have trouble getting on the ballot in many states
Nader still owes some Democrats a judgement for costs charged in a bogus attempt to get on the PA ballot in 2004. Nader did not get onto the ballot in a number of states because he has no party backing him.

Barr has a party endorsement and will get onto the ballot in most states without any problems.

8. Nader got 0.38% in 2004. Barr will easily top that.

10. Probably not much, but Barr
The LP has ballot access in quite a few states, some of which may hurt McCain's prospects or at least force his campaign to redirect funds from his battleground strategy. But he won't have debate access, and so he won't have a Perot effect.

I mean, we're talking about this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPn4mlFycpI
