I'm beginning to think you people want to lose
I can't be called a "Hillbot" or a "Bammer" or any of the other ridiculous nicknames I've heard here during this process. I didn't support either of the remaining candidates, however I have to make a choice and I choose the nominee.

Most likely that nominee is Barack Obama. Saw what you want about him, the guy ran a tough, smart campaign to win the nomination. Hillary Clinton had the money and the professionals...and she got beat. Obama's team had a game plan and they ran it well, plus he's resonated a message that people are picking up.

To me it doesn't matter who get the nominee. If we want to beat the Republicans, it will up to each of US!

I don't see a lot of that US in our party right now. I see a lot of ticked Obama supporters who will fold their arms and look crossed at Hillary supporters. I see Hillary supporters doing the same. I see party officials in Florida and Michigan who are willing derail the process because they decided that wanted to make their own set of rules.

I see white Democrats who haven't voted Republican a day in their lives who will do so because they'll vote for their skin tone ahead of their interest. I see black and brown Democrats who might just stay home because they'll believe they are "sticking it to the man".

I see all Democrats so damn afraid of the Republicans they'll will let ourselves be bullied by the Freeloaders again.

Are we going to botch a third-straight election we ought to win in a walk? I'm beginning to wonder.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I REFUSE TO LOSE, NO MATTER WHO WE PUT UP!

1. I will vote for whoever the Dem nominee is, although I might have to hold my
nose or take something beforehand to prevent me from throwing up when I vote.

The Dems could have chosen better.

This is an important election to the country, more so than any other during my lifetime, so what do the Dems do? We decide it's time to make history. Not elect someone who will fix the problems and undo the damage. Let's pick two people who will cause everyone with prejudices to rise up and vote to stop them from being elected. Let's pick a woman or a black man to run, and let's guarantee a huge GOTV event for the GOP.

Yeah, let's make it easy on ourselves. We only have to deal with election fraud, voter disenfranchisement, and a right leaning media in control of all we see and hear.

Yeah, let's just make it more difficult this time around. :eyes:

2. You and I don't agree with all our reasons for supporting the
nominee, but that is alright, because we do agree on this, we are voting for a Democratic Nominee.

5. I will vote for whomever the Dem nominee is.
I favor Obama over Hillary. That being said, I'd much rather be voting for Biden or Edwards. ;)

I just cannot fathom people who would cut off their nose to spite their face. UGH!!!

8. I've always said I would support the nominee because McCain is unacceptable
It's sad though that some here and elsewhere will not vote for the democratic nominee because their candidate didn't win.

9. There are a few Scorched Earthers, but I doubt they'll make a difference.
Any "McCain Democrat" talk is just a desperate lashing out.

13. There was a poll in Virginia
http://www.jabberwonk.com/flinker.cfm?cliid=c1fe8
Obama: 49% (35%)
McCain: 42% (55%)

Obama/Edwards: 53%
McCain/Huckabee: 41%

Men
Obama: 48%
McCain: 44%

Women
Obama: 51%
McCain: 40%

Independents:
Obama: 45%
McCain: 41%

Democrats:
Obama: 79%
McCain: 10%

Republicans:
Obama : 17%
McCain : 81%

Obama is Pulling more Republicans than McCain is pulling Democrats.

Plus, Pennsylvania's looking fine for Obama too

10. we'll be fine.
it's a contest, ya know. everyone like to hoot and holler at the game. poke each other in the ribs. but on the ride home, we recount the glory of it all, and shake hands, and go back to being friends.
i am saddened by the depth of the ugliness around here, but much of it is astroturf. and moles.
we'll be fine.

11. This is not your first rodeo, I know that
from the nature of your post.

So when November rolls around all these voters who voted in the primaries, higher numbers than in 2004 general election, those voters will go vote, and they most likely will vote dem

People want change

DU is NOT the real world... and thank goodness for that (to a point)

And yes I'd rather have Edwards be the nominee but BO is the nominee, he has my vote... oh and his skin color is yellow, as in yellow dog... (and for those thinking this is an insult, this is what some folks who will vote dem all the time say, to vote for a yellow dog if that is all the Dems put on the ticket)

12. Exactly. Let's get it together, dammit.
We HAVE to win this. Handing the presidency to McCain, for WHATEVER reason, after suffering through the past EIGHT years of Bush would be downright stupid and suicidal because we CAN win this, VERY easily.

ALL of us, UNITED.
