FOX News Uses Clinton’s RFK Assassination Comment To Attack Obama
News Hounds:
Now that Hillary Clinton is almost certain not to be the Democratic nominee for president, FOX News conservatives have turned into her most stalwart supporters. Not only did they defend Clinton over her RFK assassination comments, the only thing they found offensive was the Obama camp's reaction. Townhall.com’s Amanda Carpenter accused Obama-supporters of playing the race card to avoid talking about parts of history and Redstate.com’s Erick Erickson griped that Obama is using security concerns to make himself look more important.

But instead of using Clinton's remarks to attack her the way FOX News attacked Obama over his, the "fair and balanced" network used the Clinton controversy to also attack Obama.

It started with the Obama-disparaging teaser for the upcoming panel discussion. Rich Lowry (subbing for Sean Hannity) read, “Many Obama supporters are in an uproar about Clinton’s RFK comments, but was Hillary making a legitimate historical reference?”

Once again, it was an unbalanced panel of two conservatives to one liberal.

“This seems to me such a bogus controversy!” Lowry said.

Conservative blogger Erickson wasted no time in using the discussion to attack Obama, saying that Hillary’s remarks were nothing compared to some of what he has said.

Kelli Goff, the lone liberal guest, pointed out that the reason Clinton’s remark struck such a nerve is that there are legitimate concerns about Obama’s safety, that Obama has required more security, more secret service protection “earlier than ever in the history of an election” and with the anniversary of Bobby Kennedy’s assassination coming up, Clinton’s remark made people queasy.

“How much of that security’s been for show?” Erickson asked in response. “Early on Obama wanted to have the look of a presidential campaign by having the guys with the wires and limos.”

Alan Colmes correctly said, “Decisions (about Secret Service protection) are made by the Department of Homeland Security, not by the candidate.”

By the way, tough-talking Erickson, so willing to pooh-pooh the physical safety of candidate Obama, never put his own fanny at risk in service to his country.
