How about this ticket
Edited on Wed May-28-08 07:28 AM by barack the house
Obama / Kennedy

Let Ted have what he has always wanted for however long his time is left. That would be pretty cool I think. WHo in good heart could not vote for that ticket.

1. Well - intended, but the running mate has to be someone
who can take over if the president becomes incapacitated. Sadly, Kennedy won't be able to do that.

4. Understandable but there is a 3rd succession of Nancy Pelosi in that case. His strength could be ..
inspirational and it would be fitting in the story of history.

7. Please. It's the "condition" ITSELF that precludes this cockamamie idea.
Age. Health. History.

3. Does he want it
we don't know what Ted Kennedy wants, he ran nearly 20 years ago and as things turned out he became more powerful and did way more than he could have as President and I cannot imagine he would want to be Vice President, he's never even tried for that position. Being VEEP or even President is not a gift at this particular point in America's history and I am trying to figure out what kind of personality does one have to have to even want to step into that position. Your compassion for Senator Kennedy is admirable but it can better be used by continuing to fight for the things he has fought for all his life.
