Obama getting bashed regularly in my local paper - please help
Please note, I did not support any candidate during the primaries, but Obama is getting bashed regularly in this widely read weekly paper here in eastern CT.

I have submitted a ton of responses either defending Obama or attacking McCain, but none of them have been published. I find it strange, as I used to get letters published here on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, if others are submitting pro-Obama or anti-McCain letters, they are not getting through either.

I would greatly appreciate any help you could give by submitting a brief letter (up to 150 words) that will help to either defend Obama or define McCain.

For town/city, here are some suggestions:
East Hartford, Glastonbury, Enfield, Manchester, Norwich, New London, Vernon, Ellington, Windsor, South Windsor or East Windsor.

Thanks

1. Change is very difficult for most people, and they get scared when it comes.

2. Done, now if they accept it, will it appear under the original comment?
and how long should it take to be accepted?

3. Usually 1-2 weeks
I will make sure to post any positive responses.

Sorry for the wait.

They will publish letters that start with "In response to..."

5. Ah... well, I signed in as being from Windsor and responded to someone
who said he found Obama's speeches boring and without any idea of what Obama would actually do. After asking if he was waiting for a daily planner (!), I noted that CNN live stream presents his town halls, at which he is very specific in answering questions.

I'll be curious to find out if they print this.

4. Most of the newspapers will be campaigning for McSame, in fact already are
I wouldn't worry about it. Big Media's right-wing slant has all but rendered them irrelevant. They're no more honest than hate radio, and most people know that. But Obama will bring 10 million young people to the polls who get their information from honest sources like the internet, so all the Big Media endorsements in the world aren't going to help the old fossil.

6. The Kansas City Star does the same thing
I guess the DLC runs their editorial section.

7. DLC?
Give me a break. The DLC has spoken very highly of Barack Obama since he was a state senator (I know; Obama and I were both profiled in a DLC publication on young Dem legislators).

The KC Star is a Republican paper, plain and simple. Give the DLC conspiracy theory bit a rest.

8. Keep in mind, some papers have policies against prolific letter writers
They sometimes limit LTTE's to once every few months or so.

9. It is anonymous
and, I used to regularly get 2-3 published per week.

I've also submitted LTTEs from my work PC, my home PC and from the library near my work, which has 30 or so PCs in it.

10. keep in mind more and more people are getting their news from other places.......
other than newspapers. The cornucopia for information is expanding daily and the more times they get it wrong the faster people will turn away. I myself, only mostly read the sports section to use as a backdrop to check on things that i might of missed. Todays newspapers are mostly just overwrought cheerleader sections. Wake up and consider who owns it and what their agenda might be

11. while that is true
this paper has a wide circulation in eastern CT, a district with a lot of the so-called "Reagan" Democrats.
