2. The DNC can have a game of tiddlywinks to determine who the candidate is.
There is no right to participate in the selection process.

Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.

7. It's a shame that Hillary supporters must be told this
Political parties aren't protected by the Constitution. I think that George Washington even condemned political parties. People need to stop trying to get the courts involved in these types of intra-party decisions.

17. What exactly is nose-rubbing/grave-dancing?
A court decided what is fair and ruled in our favor... as we expected. This is a victory for the Obama camp and after all we've been through, today we can breathe a little easier.

If you don't like hearing about the news and Obama supporters reaction to the news, there are other forums for you.

You know what? you and people like you are creating an entire group of people who not only will not vote for Obama, but are looking forward to his inevitable DEFEAT.

And it's rubbing someone's nose in shit, and dancing on the grave of someone else's hopes. Astounding I have to explain this to you.

74. "Obama Underground"??? Here's my reply to when that term came up a few days ago"
That our DU Community seems to favor Obama by a WIDE majority (probably close to 8:1), seems to be pretty obvious to all by now. Does that make it less "Democratic"? Are we now the "swinish multitude", reputedly how Alexander Hamilton castigated the popular majority in his times? Fie on thee, aristocratic swine!

81. No, this is not Obama Underground.
There are Obama, Hillary, Edwards, Kucinich, Dodd, Biden, Richardson and many other types of supporters here. Everyone can post and respond as they see fit. Are you angry that there are more Obama supporters here than Hillary supporters? How can anyone help that? How can you be angry that the majority of posters have a difference of opinion than you?

Look...
Your side celebrates when you win victories... like WVA and KY.
Our side celebrates when we win victories... like NC and OR and this morning's court decision.

This is a place for all democrats to express their opinions, feelings, triumphs, defeats, etc. If you can't handle people being happy about something that doesn't go your way, you probably need to take a break or something.

When it became apparent Kerry was our nominee, it was a painful time for many people who had had such high hopes for Dean or Clark or whoever. And with each passing day, a few more people began to support our eventual nominee. That's what happens. It's not that the place had become KERRY UNDERGROUND.

She can't win, Tyler. Playing by the rules, she has lost. And no one is going to change the rules just to suit her. That's clear now.
She's lying to you, Tyler. She keeps amping up her supporters to think she still has a shot when everyone knows that she doesn't. She needs to concede gracefully, if for no other reason than to let decent Democrats who support her, like you, to move on and begin embracing our nominee... if you are so inclined.

I am sorry if I offended you. Honestly. But I was just expressing how I feel... isn't everyone entitled to that?

1. Hillary don't get to change the rule on this when it suits her
2. (Most importantly) This shows the other 48 states they were correct in abiding by the rules, the DNC does have the authority to set. This is not just about these 2 states, its about how each state in the country acts now and in the future.

I'm not counting on Florida even with Senator Clinton because Florida is a bananna republic.

Katherine Harris was in the position to screw us last time because she was elected to statewide office.

Its going GOP no matter what. Differenec is if we spend 30 million looking for the fountain of Electoral Votes again this time or invest in other places.

they have democratic govenors which should cut down on shenanigans. In a fair election we will win there, same with Michigan.

WV and KY I'm conceding regardless of who the nominee is.

Florida with a Crist on the ticket will go to McCain because they've fixxed the election once. They'll do it again.

Judge: Why is the plaintiff filing this suit?

Plaintiff: Because the DNC told us if we moved our primary, the results wouldn't count and our delegates would not be seated.

Judge: So what happened then?

Plaintiff: We moved our primary, and the results didn't count and the delegates have not been seated.

Judge: Case dismissed. Next....

Florida court throws out DNC suit
Posted: 10:45 AM ET

A Florida court threw out a lawsuit Wednesday challenging the Democratic Party's decision not to seat delegates from Florida.

(CNN) — A Florida court threw out a lawsuit Wednesday challenging the Democratic Party's decision not to seat delegates from Florida — as litigants prepared to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Political consultant Victor DiMaio and his lawyer Michael Steinberg had compared the party's decision to earlier prohibitions against allowing African-Americans to vote and invoked the trauma of the Florida recount in the 2000 contest between Al Gore and George W. Bush, both arguments also used by Hillary Clinton to support the seating of the state’s delegates.

"This is nuts. This is not right. How can they remove Florida after all the things that Florida has suffered through– hanging chads, through Bush v Gore, and they're sticking it to us again," DiMaio said before the hearing.

Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean says the situations are not comparable.

"You cannot violate the rules of the process and then expect to get forgiven for it," he said.

Judge Richard Lazarra sided with the party, saying political parties have the right to make their own rules.

DiMaio's is the second Florida lawsuit protesting the Democratic Party's decision to be thrown out of court. An earlier one filed by Sen. Bill Nelson and Rep. Alcee Hastings, both Florida Democrats, was also dismissed.

68. Fine
The Supereme Court I'm sure is anxious to give the federal courts jurisdiction over intra-party rules battles.

72. The SC has to agree to hear the case
I believe the chances that they would do so are close enough to zero that only the Hubble Space Telescope could detect them.

73. From a Tampa blog...DiMaio already refiled.
CNN's Susan Candiotti is reporting on CNN radio that Dimaio will file a simultaneous appeal to the Federal Appeals Court in Atlanta and the U.S. Supreme Court.

75. Which ruling was completely predictable.
The Clintons knew that was going to happen, but they have to try.

79. Well duh.
There's plenty of precedent.

This shouldn't come as any surprise to anybody who knows anything about party politics.

83. Of course they do.
This point has been litigated over and over again, still with the same result. The parties are entitled to run elections according to their rules.

It appears Ms. Flick is running out of bullshit.
