Hillary At Face-Value: Her Reasons for Staying In?
1) Because she says she can still win.

Technically true, but the odds are astronomical.

2) So all the states can get their say.

I can live with this. If this were the only reason, I don't think there'd be much argument.

3) Because she has every right to.

This is true, but it's a fair question to ask why. (see #1).

4) Because other 2nd place candidates have done it in the past.

Also true, but it's fair to examine the circumstances of this primary and the effects on our chances in November.

5) Because she's winning the popular vote.

WTF?! Why - with all of the semi-debatable and somewhat valid reasons she gives above - does she and her campaign insist on peddling this garbage? It's a clear falsehood and deceptive tactic. It's unnecessary and insulting to us and her own supporters. It really cuts into her credibility and BEGS the question of her UNSTATED motives, the same way the Iraq attack has been publicly about everything but oil.

It's fair to question her motives for staying in, so there's no reason to be appalled when people do. We understand that Hillary has the right to stay in - but I have yet to see an effective arguement of how this brings a net gain to the Democrats in November.

1. EGO and the inability to do what most adults can do: accept that ya don't always get what ya want
Enough of these 'leaders' who lack basic human abilities, like dealing with reality and disappointment.

3. $$$ - She needs her useful idiots to pony up cash for her $20 millon dollar debt
Occam's "Chainsaw" says this is the clearest, best, and only reason why.

4. She thinnks she is the Democrat more likely to beat McCain in the Fall
And one of the key criteria that unpledged delegates are expected to give thought to is nominating a candidate who is likely to carry the Democratic Party to victory. As long as the race stays close enough so that the decision of unpledged Super Delegates can theoretically swing the nomination either way, Clinton seems to believe it makes sense to continue to press her November electability argument.

The biggest problem with that however is that her argument is not working at anywhere near the level she needs it to in order for her to still win a majority of all the delegates. In fact more Super Delegates continue to break for Obama than break for Clinton, while she needs them to heavily break toward her. It simply isn't happening for her and there is no real reason to think that suddently it will.

5. 7) Because Obama might, um, you know, like, not be available because of, um you know.... he
...might say something incredibly stupid that would eliminate any ordinary candidate.
