"Get over it": a RW Buzz phrase from the 2000 recount.
"Bush won! Get over it!" resounded from every internet page, TV screen, and OP ED page.

Who spoke it? Who INVENTED IT? Republicans stealing the election from Al Gore.

I think Obama Supporters might want to come up with a new catch phrase, other than "He won! Get over it!" since it is of dubious heritage.

Every time I see that, I think BUSH and the "Brooks Brothers Riot." Not a good connection.

The "Death Penalty" is not in the rules. Dean and the DLC DNC did it on their own.

69. Actually, the rules DO require the DNC to fine FL and MI delegates.
The DNC lawyers came out and said that in fact, it would be impossible for them not to fine the states at LEAST 50% of their delegates. 100% is perfectly acceptable under the rules.

But hey, the rules weren't really your concern, so you just keep spinning.

So... any thoughts on that?

123. It was Clinton's team that insisted on the 100% penalty
--back when they were trying to get everything to be over with by Feb 5th. It was part of their front-loading strategy, favoring name recognition and money.

And he voted to strip Florida and Michigan of ALL their delegates.

Or Flint. Or Saginaw. We are HURTING, and a little consideration would be nice.

AND support for the local rePukes is at an all time high. You might think about that, and the fact that the only Democrats in the last 30 years voted for in this state were Clinton, Gore, and Kerry. This state goes red more than blue.

101. Then get a clue. There is no legitimate basis for ANY delegate from Michigan.
None. Zip. Nada. NOT for Clinton. NOT for Obama. Not for Edwards. None.

That barn burned down in January. All the window dressing, Kabuki, melodrama, and other bullshit hasn't changed a fucking thing.

The Michigan 'primary' was a FUBAR. It is a FUBAR. It will forever be a FUBAR.

The 'colonialism' pretense of having ANY 'delegation' from Michigan is illegitimate. It matters not whehter it's 50/50, 100/0, 0/100, or ANYTHING else. It's bullshit to claim a 'delegation' from People who never had a legitimate opportunity to 'delegate' ANYONE!

That's the situation created by a cast of characters that DIDN'T include the People of the state of Michigan themselves.

There is absolutely NO undoing that.

The question is now SOLELY whether the blithering ASSHOLES in the Democratic Party, states and national, have the remaining integrity and courage to come to this state and EARN support for November. (I somehow doubt it.)

It has very little to do with Clinton or Obama ... some, but very little. It has to do with the people of this state. It seems OBVIOUS that the "Democrats" think they can piss in the faces of the people of this state and then tell them to "vote or else." Well, that's a guaranteed path to "Lose-Lose."

120. I'm from Michigan as well, Tyler Durden.
And we all knew what we were doing. We knew the threats, and we rolled the dice. Our point was to make a point. We didn't think we'd actually count, that it would be this close. Our point was YOUR point: that we're tired of being shat upon, that Michigan matters a hell of a lot more (even symbolically) than New Hampshire (sorry, my friends from New Hampshire) and certainly more than South Carolina (o.k., now I'm just being mean ). Our point is that Michigan is a microcosm of what's wrong with this country in manifold ways. We WERE a manufacturing monster: Ford, GM--see every Michael Moore documentary out there. What's wrong with Michigan is what's wrong with the values of the politicians. We're both rural and urban (Detroit has one of the highest--if not the highest--democratic turn-out rates out there). So we decided to push back this year; we decided to cut off our noses to spite our face. And we did. We can't ask for plastic surgery now.

I think you're a good, solid, loyal Clinton supporter, and you should be applauded for this. But I just ain't buying what you're selling--not from a logical, logistical, and tactical (meaning that we were ready not to have our votes counted) standpoint.

But after the way she's behaved the last few weeks, with this bogus popular vote comment, with the RFK comment, with Bill now saying the whole thing is a cover-up.... I'm just done. This thing wraps up on Tuesday. No more contests. And it's not my responsibility to kiss anyone's ass for their vote. I'll work like hell, as I always do, to get the word out there about Obama. But what you decide to do is personal and none of my business.

what the context. Resorting to rudeness in an argument is very poor form, and counterproductive to boot. It immediately shifts the gears into emotionality and away from rationality.

There is no long term strategic advantage in such behavior. It satisfies the ego and the lizard brain in the moment -- but then what?

Sorry for rambling, it's just that your post got me thinking.

Peace,

I am not going to let you dictate what we can and cannot say, and I am not going to idly sit by while you accuse us of using "RW buzz phrases". The term "Get over it" did not originate with the 2000 election.

"Get over it" seems quite adequate, because people like you and your candidate simply refuse to acknowledge reality.
