In Case You Were Wondering - I Am Not A "Obomaton"

Or a Bama-bot or a mindless fool. I do not hate white women as someone suggested in a sweeping brush stroke of those of us who are aligned with Senator Obama. Nor do I have it in for women in general. Just as a lot of the people who support Clinton are not the nasty things they have been called. I vote Democratic and have marched in the streets protesting the occupation of Iraq. I want to see peace and a strong economy. I want the neocons gone. The names I have been called in here are demeaning and hurtful for me and others who may share my views. I have been pushed to the limit at times. I've never had anyone on ignore until this primary. In fact, I do not like the ignore function but found I needed it to preserve my sanity.

I don't know when I have seen a more tedious primary but the OPs, and there are lots of them, that are designed to fuel the flame fest in here, are for the most part fucking lame, baseless and faux-opinionated crap that I would expect to see on The Free Republic.

Please do not make vast sweeping judgements about how I arrived at where I am politically. I did not have an "Obama-Lobotomy" --- My frontal lobe is okay.

I know my candidates strengths as well as his weak points. I am not blind to the mans flaws. Perfection is impossible. I am simply looking at whose values are more aligned with mine.

I wish that part of the "rules" on DU would include that the supporters or followers of any candidate should be addressed only by these terms.

I have seen "Hillbot" twice in the past 24 hours alone, and have commented that this is why many Hillary supporters would stay home if she is not the nominee.

Obama has been gracious toward Hillary and her supporters. He does not have a problem with her running in all the primaries. Why can't DUers do the same?

Oh, and questioning the experience of Obama, commenting on how many blacks are voting for hims because he is black, or the bullying tactics of the Black Congressional Caucus against its own members - does not make one a racist.

If you haven't seen the smears thrown at Obama supporters; from crap about "birkenstock wearing prius drivers" or "latte liberals" or "cultists" or even "kids"... you really haven't been paying attention.

And let's be perfectly honest- I think very little of the irritation currently being expressed towards Hillary has to do with her "running in all the primaries". I think most of us will be relieved if she finishes out the primaries, and then accepts the results of primary process -which likely will result in Obama winning- and drops out on, say, June 4th.

Unfortunately, what you have now is Hillary surrogates repeating what appear to be centrally co-ordinated talking points, about "electability", lies about "winning the popular vote", blatant hypocrisy regarding agreed upon DNC rules and FL & MI, etc. And really, most of us suspect we're being set up for a summer of scorched Earth gibberish from Hillary & her supporters as she "takes it to the convention".

If this is about finishing all the primaries, fine. If this is about dividing the party and sabotaging our nominee all the way to the convention, that's something else, and you're damn right I'll be pissed.

Lastly, if being called a "hillbot" on an online forum is enough to make someone not support our nominee, given all that is at stake this year for our nation and our planet, that person really needs to get out more-- or grow a thicker skin.

At least Hillary has a track record to attack, like her IWR vote which, by the way, at the time, was supported by most Americans based on the information provided by Bush.

Obama has no track record that can be either praised or criticized.

I would often say that we need to unite behind the nominee because of the Supreme Court. But the way Bill's presidency has been trashed on these pages, without whose nomination we would not even have a chance - why bother?

And it is not just an online forum. Many women are offended because of the way she has been slighted as a woman, not as another candidate.

These days, most politicians shed a tear on occasion, but when she did it, she was claimed as weak or as manipulative.
