Do You REALLY Think That Clinton Will Drop Out? Really?
Edited on Wed May-28-08 08:37 PM by MannyGoldstein
I keep reading that Clinton will HAVE to drop out after next Tuesday. What are y'all smoking?

Clinton's chances of winning the Democratic nomination will be almost exactly the same in one week as they are now - very, very low. She's not going anywhere. The only reason that she's staying in is to work to destroy Obama, and build a reputation and base that can win her the White House in 2012 - and she can do just as good of a job at these after next Tuesday as she can today.

So go relax and have a nice cold one - the unique presence of The Clintons and their coterie of creeps will remain a fixture on the tube for months to come.

2. Build A Reputation And A Base?
I don't think that is what she has been building.

3. The longer she stays in the race
the more evidence accumulates as to Obama's political lightweightedness and GE unelectability.
The general philosophy of Obamism = the hopium of the masses

4. Except...
Edited on Wed May-28-08 08:42 PM by Terry_M
If she stays and keeps attacking Obama as not ready and fit to be president, in 2012 she will start off with half the democratic base really ticked off at her and she will not get any further along. Even if she wins the nomination in 2012, how many of us Obama supporters will actually show up to vote for her in 2012 after she loses this election for us? Unless the republicans put Satan himself up against her....
So I don't really understand what she wants.

6. I Hate To Think
Hill/Bill would go that far. The backlash
they would get would ruin any future run
for anything.

This is the last graceful exit ramp.
I hope they take it.

We'll see in 7 or 8 days.

By the DNC, media, etc.

I don't think she knows how to bow out, even if she wanted to.

8. If she doesn't if will confirm what many of us already know
but sadly, many of those who voted for her, apparently do not.

And that would be the fact that the Clintons and the DLC do not now, nor did they ever, give a shit about the Democratic party.

10. You are 100% correct. The proof is she obviously doesn't care what the
SDs think as she continues to offend them so much that they continue to migrate to Obama. She is attempting to build a case that she was ROBBED, so that white women will not vote for Obama so that he will lose.

14. If she stays in after next Tuesday
Her career is finished, Bill's legacy will be gone forever and every media outlet but Fox will replace "Nadar" with "Clinton".

Bill will have to pay people to LET him make speeches.

No one in her beloved inner circle of DC will return her calls as they won't want the stink on them.

If she stays in, the best we can do is have an intervention and then send her to a recovery location for 3 months for people to get through her thick skull that despite the pots and pans crowd, she LOST.

22. I agree, but I don't think
It will make a difference, she will stay and and do even more damage to herself, the party, and Obama. She is at the point that if she can't win, no democrat will. She will destroy him even if it destroys her future in politics! I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but I kind of doubt it! If she stays in till the convention, this party will never heal.

19. She's not getting out.

I do agree that she isn't building her base, though.

She's destroying it. I now think she can't win the GE even if she gets it. The Republicans would hammer the hell out of her about stealing the nomination.

And a big chunk of Obama's base, including energized new and young voters and black voters would stay home. Hillary likes to pretend that the Reagan Democrats are going to put her over the top and that apparently black voters aren't needed.

I hope we don't have to find out.

I would only vote for her because I want the right to bitch about the horror that will be unleashed in a McCain Presidency.

But the Democratic Party isn't letting her anywhere near the nomination in 2012. Not after all of this. And she has to know that.

26. Not a chance in Hell!
She will drag this out until the Convention. Hillary supporters will get in line and say Obama is too weak and it is his fault not hers. Her hope is that she can run on '12 and say 49% of Dems backed her, ignoring the reality that she pissed off a large majority and can only win with multiple divisions.

But maybe that is her plan! Fuck what is best for the Country, a divided Country is what suits her best and ties into the agenda.

What a great vision of America.
