Interesting evening in the Rogue Valley yesterday.
I haven't seen the official count for the crowd at the Jackson County Expo for Kerry, as I'm a late riser. But one of the local news people put it at 7,500 at the time.
What made the evening even more interesting was a rousing Bush/Cheney rally at Veterans Park in Medford. Anyone with all their fingers could count the numbers of B/C supporters. One of the organizers claimed a number of 50 but, if that were true, 35 or so of them must have been disguised as trees. This is in Repub country.

1. Thanks for the check-in. Oregon is Kerry/Edwards Country.
Love the supplemental report on the Bush/Cheney "event." har har.

Notes for Portland this morning - I already left some in the Oregon forum, but I talked with my IT Dept. colleague this morning, so got some more news.

Turns out the CEO of our company (donor of thousands to Bush/Cheney/RNC this year, not to mention the egregious Goli Ameri for Congress campaign) arranged for some kind of special tickets to the Portland Kerry event for his wife and daughter. This didn't make any sense to any of us until I remembered: The whole family went apeshit over that awful "Titanic" movie a few years ago, loaded up on ALL the peripheral merchandise, and the ladies obviously NEED TO MEET LEONARDO DI CAPRIO!"

Whatever it takes. Maybe the ladies will have their thinking caps on today and will be stunned to hear coherent thoughts from a federal office-holder and candidate for President.

Wish I had video capture smarts but I don't. Kinda hoping for a thunderstorm yesterday so they coulda shown the Bush/Cheney group taking shelter in a phone booth.

4. Thanks for posting
I have a "friend" in that area. She's continually sending me repulsive conservative stuff. I sent her your comments and asked if she was one of the "50".

5. Thanks for the "Thanks"
Would be interested in her response. I live across the hill in Klamath Falls which is even more right wing than the valley.

6. Good to see Southern Oregon comming around
I always loved that corner of our state, however the big sign stating tht the Pope is the Antichrist in Medford really turned me off.

Good to know Ashland folks still have that Populist spirit!
