So I am talking to my brother last night. We talk about how his treatment (tongue cancer) is going and what days I need to come up and take him to chemo/radiation and finally he says something about W putting his foot in his mouth (the "never stop trying to find ways to harm our country and neither do we" line) and I update him on the "sovereignty" and "dodging tax cuts" lines. We laugh about it and so I figure it is okay to ask him about what he thinks of the whole SwiftBoatVets thing.
Now mind you my brother thinks the Republicans are socialists-I just asked and listened to what he had to say
~close quotes
~"Well I don't think that Kerry was as much a hero as they make him out to be but that is politics but by no means was he a coward"
~"I am going to defer to one person on this issue-John McCain. If McCain says that it is wrong it is wrong...Bush should definitely come out and say it is wrong...WHERE THE HELL WAS BUSH ANYWAY???"
Is this a good move?
~"Oh God no, people don't want to hear that and they certainly are more interested in what they are going to do not in slinging mud at each other"
I didn't want to preach to him but I also asked if he knew what they did to McCain in South Carolina in 2000 and he said "Oh that black baby crap?" I did inform him of the gay innuendo, crazy innuendo, and traitor innuendo and how they did it.
~"They obviously have nothing to run on"
I still can't get him to vote for Kerry yet, that smartass is going to write in Sharpton's name. But that is how a devotee of CNN and sometimes Fox is reading through this "issue".
