Now, let's review some key quotes from the Oct 2007 article. First, we learn that:

"The other shot-in-the-arm for the GOP in recent months has been the realization among Republicans that Hillary Clinton is the likely nominee. Nothing unites the GOP faithful more than a race against a Clinton, particularly Hillary. I expect that when it becomes clear who the GOP nominee is, that the party's fund raising problems will begin to disappear. At that point, the nominee to be will be perceived as the head of the party, not a lame duck President with low approval ratings."

and...

"For the GOP, Hillary may be the gift that keeps on giving until next November."

OK, now let’s fast forward to May 2008. Suddenly we find that:

Were the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, the Democrats would be in very good shape even without Ohio. That is because current surveys show Hillary Clinton winning all three states by solid margins over John McCain. But John McCain trounces Barack Obama in the same three states by over 20% in each case. So with Clinton as the nominee, these states vote as they did when her husband was the nominee. When Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee, these states vote as they did when George Bush was running.”

“If Clinton were the nominee, she would have an opportunity for a broad based national victory”

And the kicker:

“The Democrats in their "wisdom" will take a pass on what could have been a much easier road to victory with Clinton.

So let’s recap.

1) In 2007, if Hillary is the nominee she will unite the GOP and greatly help their fundraising abilities.
2) In 2008, if Hillary was the nominee, then that would give the DNC an “easier” road to victory then Obama.

OK, Richard. Step away from the crystal ball. If Hillary was the presumptive nominee for the past few months, she would have been attacked by the GOP 24/7. We all know they wouldn't hesitate to just make things up if they couldn't find any new dirt. You seem aware of this in 2007. Why did you forget that in 2008? Try reading your own articles before you go and contradict yourself.
