Matthew 7:3
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

1. repubs don't read that part of the bible...
They also don't read Jesus' words about compassion and loving the least among you.

2. ...
5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

5. The verse seemed designed specifically for GDP
and even the whole media-driven campaign season.

Its all about picking at minor flaws while the horrible problems in this country are ignored.

I don't give a darn what Rev. Wright says or whether it was Auschwitz or Buchenwald, I want to know what Sen.Obama is going to do to get us out of Iraq and what he is going to do to fix health care and education.

I don't care what Sen. Clinton said about RFK. I want to what she proposes to do about peace in the Middle East and about the looming financial crisis.

10. Just giving you a hard time.
:hi:

That verse has actually crossed my mind many many many times - like every time Obama is called a "liar".

4. What about you, you hypocrite?
Why don't you take Brian out in the parking lot to get high with you? Or invite Allison to one of your heavy metal vomit parties?
What about me? What would your friends say if we were walking down the hall together? They would laugh their a$$es off.

13. Don't you ever talk about my friends!
You don't know any of my
friends, you don't look at any of my
friends and you certainly wouldn't
condescend to speak to any of my
friends so you just stick to the
things you know, shopping, nail
polish, your father's BMW and your
poor--rich--drunk mother in the
Carribean!

8. Now, let's not take it out of context....
11 While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once. 12 He said: "A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas.'Put this money to work,' he said, 'until I come back.'

14 "But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.'

15 "He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.

16 The first one came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned ten more.'

17 " 'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'

18 "The second came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned five more.'

19 "His master answered, 'You take charge of five cities.'

20 "Then another servant came and said, 'Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. 21I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.'

22 "His master replied, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow? 23Why then didn't you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?'

24 "Then he said to those standing by, 'Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.'

25 " 'Sir,' they said, 'he already has ten!'

26 "He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away. 27But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me."

Now if you change the male pronouns in the parable to female, Our Lord might have been talking about Hillary here. O8)

9. Yeah , I know.
I just like shocking people with that particular verse. It's pretty bizarre without context.
