Early morning thread to thank Bob Barr...

Barr will get twice as many Republican votes as Nader will get Democratic votes.

Bob Barr is Barack Obama's new best friend. Disgruntled conservatives LOVE this guy.

Barr being in the race puts Georgia into play for Obama. If Barr gets just 5% of GA... not out of the question.... and Obama gets about a 15% higher black turnout there than Kerry got in 2004....

Then Georgia turns blue.

I might even (gulp) donate some cash to the Barr campaign in states like Georgia, Mississippi, and the Carolinas.

1. New metrics. And those who think they can play by the old metrics...
...are in for a BIG surprise come November. I live in VA. Have for 54 years. It's been repugnantcan nearly all my life. But there's something in the air this year I just can't describe. A serious need for change, tired of the same old same old, young people getting involved. This is gonna turn politics upside down and the repugnantcans and others who are playing by the old book are on their way OUT!

4. If he can get 5% in Arizona it will be 'in play'
and the last sorry remnants of McCain's fund raising will collapse.

People will not hand money to somebody that can't carry their own state.

McCain runs about 50% Obama 40 and Undecideds 10%

Recent migration has made AZ a much more liberal state and Barr is much closer to the original Goldwater conservatives.

I hope Barr lives in Arizona for a couple of weeks.

5. I heard somewhere that 1/3 of Arizonians have never voted McCain
and another 1/3 have only seen him on the ballot once.

6. 1/3 of the state wasn't there 8 years ago same with Nevada
Growth states: Arizona overtakes Nevada
Texas adds most people overall; Louisiana population declines nearly 5 percent.
By Les Christie, CNNMoney.com staff writer
December 25 2006: 12:21 PM EST

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Arizona replaced longtime leader Nevada as the fastest-growing state in the union during the 12 months ended July 1, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The population of the Grand Canyon State grew 3.6 percent during that period. Nevada grew by 3.5 percent.

Rounding out the top five growers were Idaho ( 2.6 percent), Georgia and Texas (both 2.5 percent).

In absolute numbers, Texas was the biggest gainer. Its population increased by 579,275 during the period. Second was Florida, which gained 321,697 residents.

If Barr would pick up a few percent and Obama picks Webb McCain could end up in a fight in his home state which is going to encourage everyone to sit on their wallet.

Did you see that nice article about Michelle in AZ today? It also described what is a near collapse of McCain's fund raising in AZ with Bush - they had to keep moving to smaller rooms.

BTW why are you up so late lol
