5. Why do we need to censor ourselves.
Can't we express how we feel without recriminations?

8. I know I'm obviously having trouble communicating the concept I'm attempting to convey, so I hope
you'll bear with me while I make another attempt.

The thing is, I think of Obama as a honorable person. I totally admire his cool and his centeredness. I admire his intelligence and political instincts, I think he's very sharp, very cool, very good. I really respect that in a person -- competency and honor.

I wasn't sold on him until really quite recently -- I rooted for him from the time Edwards dropped out because Hillary has been my worst nightmare for many years and Obama was the only alternative. But just over the past couple weeks I've started actually getting excited about him.

I mean, I always knew I could live with him as our nominee, but that was about all. So now, after watching events unfold, and reading more stuff about him, I'm actually getting hopeful, dammit. Hopeful that some change might actually happen. It's a cruel hope, because it's been dashed every time I've voted for president since 1972.

Yeah, I'm rambling, sorry...

Anyway, I feel, for the first time since the 60s, that we are girding for battle again -- a real battle, not just the half-assed phony stageshow battle put on by the Ruling Class to keep the groundlings distracted and quelled that we've been getting every 4 years since FDR.

So, I want to be an impeccible warrior. I want to go into battle surrounded by strong, fearless and honorable warriors. That's why I so dislike lizard brain behavior -- fear, aggression, hostility, mocking, etc. I want us to show the Hillary people that we are noble and honorable and respectful.

I want them to WANT to be on our side. I don't want to tear them down and demand submission.

I hope that makes sense.

Peace,
sw

10. I don't think you understood what I was saying. I'm not talking about Hillary.
I'm talking about how we treat each other. Why post something snarky about Hillary, when you know that it's going to cause pain or anger in another DUer?

Mocking Hillary on DU doesn't touch Hillary, it touches the people who wanted her to be the nominee. What purpose does it serve? How does it help us win in November?

I'd like to see some prioritizing -- ego-gratification or building bridges?

Peace,
sw

11. Wow, you just summed up my feelings perfectly.
Except for the self control bit, and that I never liked Edwards.

12. Well, doggonnit! Without the self control bit it's NOTHING! It's RUINED!
And since you never liked Edwards, I must challenge you to a duel. :D

Peace,
sw

13. I know...
I'm so ashamed.

But after 8 years of Bu$h, Clinton scares the hell out of me.
And fear brings out the worst in people.
But I'll try to take your sound advice.
