The key thing to watch for tomorrow: 50% Delegates or 50% voting power
These two things do not have the same results. I have noticed that the pro-Clinton people have been arguing for a 50% reduction in voting power for the delegates instead of a 50% cut in the number of delegates.when they are not arguing for full seating) I was wondering why?...Well Here's why:

{i}As for the actual meeting itself, there's one more angle you ought to be aware of: a 50% cut and a halving of the delegates is not the same thing. For instance, if Florida delegates are seated in their entirety, but only have their vote counted as a .5, then Clinton will net approximately 19 delegates out of the state. But if the delegation is cut in half, that's done in every congressional district as well as statewide, then suddenly Clinton's advantage is only a net of six.

Also to keep in mind: Obama is now up about 200 delegates. So this doesn't matter all that much. Indeed, even the strongest Clinton scenario doesn't close that gap.{/i}

This will be interesting. Let's all hope the delegations are cut in half. (And I personally would like to see ALL SDs in FL and MI lose voting power since they are the cause of this mess)

Please kick so people can learn about these possibilities.

2. My head hurts - just get it over with
I really don't care what they do because it won't matter anyway. I am going to power wash the patio and house tomorrow. I don't plan to watch a minute of it.

3. Good catch there, but I think that the most important thing to watch for tomorrow
Is whether or not Clinton and her campaign members are actually willing to play ball, or if they're going to drag this process out to the convention, which would substantially damage Obama's chances in the general election.

I think that this is going to be the key coming out of the weekend. Sadly, I think that Hillary is going to try and drag this fight out, at this point aiming at 2012.

But thanks for the catch on the numbers.

5. The situation is compliacated by the fact
That the Clinton campaign is advocating for a solution more aggressive than what the Michigan Democratic Party is pushing for. The MDP has endorsed a 69-59 compromise, and the original DNC position is of course 0 delegates. Rational people would assume the final compromise will be somewhere between those two solutions, most probably 69-59 at 50% or in other words 34.5-29.5. But Clinton is pushing not only for full seating but that it split 73-0, with 55 uncommitted up for grabs. The actual appeal being heard comes from the MDP, not the Clinton campaign, so I doubt we will even hear arguments for the 73-0 split from anyone other than Clinton loyalists on the committee itself. The Clinton campaign has set itself up to be guaranteed to be upset by the decision, because what they are advocating is not really one the the solutions even being considered.

7. Oh... I'm almost certain that she will drag this out...
She will do whatever it takes to keep Obama off message and she is hard working on trying to convince her supporters that she is the rightful nominee that it was "taken" from.

She has been running for the 2012 nominee since PA.

4. I'd prefer ALL The Delegates be counted at half a vote. Leaves the screaming mimi nothing to bitch
about.

8. My guess: 50% voting power

This is only based on what I've heard various interested parties say in public interviews. None of them addressed this point specifically BTW.

I wasn't aware of the consequences of that decision until your post - thanks! :hi:

13. But can they legally do that..
The rules stated that taking away half the delegates is the minimum punishment.

11. They should seat all of them
And then split them 50-50. That's the only fair solution. Other than that, they should seat all of them and give them a half a vote.

12. The pledged delegates should be divided evenly at full voting strength
and superdelegates should not be seated at all. That's the only way to offer some form of enfranchisement to the voters.

will be awarded a full delegation but each has a 1/2 vote. Not sure about FL's SD's
