that you'll often find around the dining room table when my family gets together: as we're Irish American, you'll likely hear Irish jokes. You'll also hear us rip into each other's foibles. If you're not ready for it, it would sound mean at the least.

But we tend to feel that as long as we're making fun of ourselves, even in a larger sense, that it's ok.

He blew it, I think, and didn't get the humor he was going for. Instead it came across as harsh and an attack on someone not part of the "party" (no I don't mean the Democratic party, I mean the gathering that day).

that just a bit ago, in states like W VA and KY, Hillary set herself up as the only candidate who was capable of getting the "white" vote. I am sure that sounded really good to those who can't ever imagine voting for a black candidate. And yeah, I'd hope she is crying because it didn't work out like it should have, since Obama is still in the lead.

She never should have pulled that stunt of holding herself out like a white person who can bring home the white vote - from that perspective, his routine struck me as accurate and pretty funny.
