Hillary got in trouble for her Bosnia stories and for bringing up RFK's assassination (at least three times). Meanwhile Obama gets blamed for what others say--like these pastors as if he can control what comes out of their mouths. (Yeah, I know Obama did get in trouble for his "bitter" comment), but why is it that Obama gets blamed for what other people say? It doesn't make sense to me.

1. It started early on
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6384821.stm

It's a pattern that has endured throughout the entire campaign.

8. Wait a Minute
In December one of Clinton's campaign people (Shaheen) came under criticism for saying Obama's past drug use would be an issue and she ended up firing him.

In Geffen's case, he was hosting a fundraiser, and by talking to the press & using all the old RW complaints about HC, he's making himself available to be criticized.

6. Again, blaming a man for what others say? WTF?
If I say really dumb things, can I blame you for it? If a pastor says something unbecoming, can I blame Hillary?

Have to laugh at the stupidity of it. My ex husband had his lawyer put it into the divorce papers that I can't let my sister say bad things about him! The judge thought that was funny and wished him good luck trying to hold me responsible for what another grown woman might wanna say about a man who would put that in a divorce request.

15. It reflects on Obama because of the way he has run his
entire campaign. He allows surrogates to speak for him and does nothing about them unless there is a public outcry. He should be distancing himself from this man. He should have said something about the sexist stories that appeared in the media, and the hateful things said by Jesse Jackson, Jr., just to give another example of surrogate misuse.

We have spent time here denouncing Fox News for being the propaganda outlet of the republican party. We have criticized people like Limbaugh. Why is this any different? Obama uses people like this pastor and his other surrogates while keeping his own hands clean. In reality, he is just another dirty politician.

I have it on my YOU TUBE page. The truth hurts, so said my gramma. Also he is white which blows the whole thing for HRC, I know she was hoping it would have been a black guy, but sorry.

5. What else would they get him on?
Yeah, I feel like they are grasping at straws here, especially Hannity. That sort of explains why this stuff is on REPEAT three hours a day on the radio, and at night.

They are playing on the "unknown" angle as much as possible. The only way they can do that is by introducing questions about other people around him.
It seems like it isn't working, but we won't know until the GE.

Despite objections that this aspect of his candidacy is a weakness, I think the country will be better off to see openly what sort of tactics they will resort to.

16. I leaned Obama early on, too.
I think every Democrat from Illinois had to at least consider him. I learned enough about him to turn me away from him very quickly.

22. Social psychologists have attributed the double standard toward Obama
on "outgroup homogeneity". Many members of a dominant group (such as whites in the US) recognize fully the wide differences of opinion common within their own group, but fail to notice that "they" don't all think alike. Recent "Countdown" remarks by African-American Washington Post editor Eugene Robinson prompted me to google this concept and try to summarize it--see the GDP thread at
