Leaked! Hillary Rodham Clinton's concession speech June 4, 2008
Edited on Sat May-31-08 08:28 AM by Bread and Circus
Thank you....

Thank you...

Thank you...

(she waves and hushes the crowd)

I would like to thank my supporters and all fellow Americans who stood by me for the last 15 months. Through thick and thin you have all proved yourselves to be stalwart and loyal friends of my campaign. I know we have all been down a long hard road together and I want to take this time and remind you that my campaign was not about me but about all of you. However, like all good things there must sometime be an end...

(boos from the crowd)

And with both great sadness and newfound conviction I am announcing that I must suspend my campaign (10,000,000 Clinton supporters silently wonder if that mean she's not really dropping out) and endorse my friend and colleague Barack HUSSEIN Obama (10,000,000 Obama supporters silently wonder WTF!?!) for the Presidency of the United States.

(more boos, followed by Clinton waving and hushing the crowd).

You know, no one thought a woman could make it this far, but I did it. I was an underdog the whole way (some heads explode) but we fought the good fight and kept it positive (more heads explode).

(She nods as the crowd cheers)

However, Barack was a worthy opponent. He lead one of the most amazing and effective campaigns in modern times. Under his leadership he has amassed the warchest, votes, and the delegates to carry this nomination. It is our job to pull together and support him for the election in the fall. It hasn't been easy as I think we were both up against incredible odds. However, you have to give credit where credit is due. We threw everything we could at him, even the kitchen sink (she gives a knowing pause and smile...the crowd laughs) and yet he still stood strong. I've got some very powerful allies (she gestures to Bill and Chelsea...Bill looks down and gets redfaced, Chelsea beams with a quavering smile and a teary eye) and yet he was able to beat me on the path to the nomination. It is his brilliance, intelligence, and cool resolve that has made him a rising star of the Democratic Party, a title he so sincerely deserves. And beyond that, Senator Obama has his amazing campaign team and literally millions of grassroots supporters. I would like to offer my supporters and my campaign volunteers to work on behalf of Senator Obama. When we combine all of our resources, there is no way we can lose in the fall. Chelsea, Bill, and I will be happy to continue to campaign for Senator Obama vigorously and passionately because he shares our values...our common Democratic values.

It's time to put a Democrat in the White House in 2008! (crowd cheers).

(Clinton then spends about 15 mins retelling "amazing" stories of people she met on the campaign trail that mostly consist of the sorts of source material that is worthy of a John Steinbeck epic. People seem to really, really care.)

So, I think if we are to help those people, we don't have a moment to waste. With the Iraq War, the Economy, and the Supreme Court on the line, it is time to put aside any differences held in the primaries and move on to our common goals, shared ideals, and Democratic values.

It is now my task to head back to the Senate and work toward passing legislation that benefits you and I will never tire of fighting for you.

Thank you.

(music plays...)

(clap clap...point point)

(bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt...)

I slap my alarm clock, it's only June 2 and it's time to go to work....crap.

3. get off it already.
have you no shame?

Damn, I hate posing rhetorical questions. Especially when the recipient is incapable of understanding it as such.

Sorry, if you took it wrong.

The previous poster is bouncing around everywhere, laying the Hillaryan groundwork today. I hope she earns more than minimum wage for doing it.

6. Oh sorry, I thought your post was directed at me. I was just having a bit of fun
with the original post. I wasn't quite sure why people would take offense, considering everything that's been said here I thought it was kind of lighthearted and benign.

:)
