This Whole Meeting Is Theatre And Meaningless Theatre
Edited on Sat May-31-08 11:08 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
The outcome is meaningless... Anybody who has been around a courtroom knows a good lawyer can argue both sides of a case and still win...The Clinton (and) Obama forces are both making arguments that bring them closer to the outcome they want to achieve...

It's like 00 redux...

1. That, and they've already decided to seat the delegates with 1/2 a vote each.

4. The sole drama
as I understand it is whether the Clinton camp intends to compromise at all, even though they gain something by anything short of the existing rule penalties. The voters have already and will remain, cheated respective to any state or any method of choosing delegates. In that respect, it is theater, and short of scourging Florida House Dems, simply beyond the question of justice.

After 50 states this might be fair in terms of speculating Hillary's probable gains in those two states by statistical consistencies in large sample. States wanting to spare themselves the effort and money might want thus to be saved last in the future and their slate finally decided by mathematicians and pollsters.

7. Bad Cases Make Bad Law
I voted in FL...I want my vote to count...But the process is so flawed I have no idea what an equitable outcome would be...

9. The equitable outcome
would have been a vote or caucus. That was the first failure and the fingers keep wagging over that as well with no compromise on how to conduct one. The voters have been sandbagged. It might as well be a random pick of state Dems(replacing the SD's as well), given a full vote to make the whole party leadership sweat it out. That would be some blind justice for all the people of Florida.

5. Theatre but not Meaningless
It's an effort to send a message to alienated Democratic voters that their voices are being heard. Nothing more. Will it succeed or not, who knows?

6. I agree completely. They have already decided and now the show for the sheep.
THis is due process at it's best. Posturing and prostrating for effect that will not affect the outcome which has been decided long ago.

8. What did you expect?? and what would you have different?

You're not happy that compromise is being reached after WEEKS AND WEEKS of work by both sides?? This is how things are accomplished, and accomplished not unfairly. Would you rather everyone be ripping each other apart on national tv?
