That's the way a leader needs to act.

1. I do too. For the good of the Democratic Party, it's imperative that we
don't have an endless parade of distractions from that church from now until November, no matter how painful it is to leave. I must say, I think the new pastor was just as subversive to Obama and just as publicity-seeking as Wright (by inviting and then applauding the odious Pfleger and his sermon), and Obama realized it in time.

2.  He speaks honestly in my view
Can you ever image GW or MCCain or HC for that matter, being that honest.

Was that necessary?

5. I agree with you on this.
It isn't often that a Clinton supporter says a positive thing about Obama. Cheap shots like the one above, are completely uncalled for.

4. Do I detect a hint of admiration here MethuenProgressive?
If so, good for you. I've been waiting to see if you'd start to warm up some. I think your heart is in the right place now. Build on it.

6. Good for the church and Good for Obama
The church needs to have their free speech and they can't have that when a Presidential Candidate is running and the media covers all their services.

Any good church will say controversial things mainly because the founder of Christianity wasn't crucified for playing nice and being a people pleaser.
