I have more to say, but I will wait until Monday for that.

1. After watching that circus, the theatre, the screaming from the halls and hissy fits, you are proud?

The democratic party looked like a dramatic joke today, on all networks. It showed if you whined enough, made enough obscured and flawed, emotion based arguments that you can win anything. It showed that rules mean little to nothing, that party insiders can't agree 100% on anything, etc.

5. Dysfunctionality is part of the nature of being both a Floridian and a Democrat.
But in the end, I can say the right thing is done. And that's all that matters.

4. I thought Wexler was fantastic. And I thought the proposal put
forward was as good as it was going to get. I'm proud of Obama for supporting it.

6. Wexler was all stagecraft pandering to a media-framed issue...
"Concession"? Obama had no choice in order to save face at this point (if the decision wasn't going to be adhered to). He made a good speech, but they were throwing a bone they had to throw (which in a reasonable party, shouldn't have been thrown at all).

11. I agree that he did...
but it is sad that it should count for anything. Compromises and rule bending really have no place in that forum, which transformed into a soap opera today. LOL...I want my smoke-filled back rooms back!

8. I am very proud of my congressman.
And while I have not been either an Obama supporter or an Obama opponent, I will give props to Senator Obama for choosing the right man to do the right thing.

7. I am glad we got the DNC to back down as well. It would have been nice
to get them to back down all the way, but we were at least close on that vote. I can abide by their decision and feel we got some justice, finally.

12. They weren't allowed to go back any further according to the rules.
They revoke completely any discressionary penalty that they levied.

15. This mess was all because they invoked it to begin with.
They brought out a big hammer and hit their own foot.

17. I thought this mess had to do with the states violating the rules, then failing to redo primaries

18. Chicken and egg, I suppose
But I am sure the Florida Democrats would have not made such a big deal over the automatic penalty had they left it at that. The republicans didn't.

13. True. I'm not saying it was ideal.
But the delegate scenario is not one-person-one-vote anyways. (And neither is the electoral college. I'd like to see both reformed/eliminated down the road) If you live in a larger state, your vote will be given more weight. What happened was that Florida just got downgraded from a large state to a midsized state.

So as much as I do hate to see my vote diluted, it's not enough to keep me angry about the situation anymore. I wish this was all done sooner, but the fact that it did get done restored some of my confidence in the Democratic Party.

16. Yes. The "no vote" thing left it hard for me to get into Obama or Clinton.
Now, at least I had a part in the process and "own" part of it, just a little bit. Even though I didn't vote for either of them.

19. You are?
I'm from Florida, too, and I was embarrassed and ashamed of just about every single person that showed up at that circus except for Robert Wexler. At least what he said got me thinking.

There was nothing to be proud of today. Sorry, but there just wasn't, except for the possible fact that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. I would have hoped it was over today (the controversy), but instead, we have angry people everywhere, idiots talking out of there ass on CNN and a Democratic National Committee that ended up having to back down on their words from last year.

I cringed at the theatrics, the whining, the hostility and the outright weakness displayed today. And it's STILL not over. There are still people who are pissed off and crying and shouting.
