I just got back from the Michigan 12th District convention.
The district is about half in Macomb County and half in Oakland County. Registration began at 8:30, Precinct Delegate training at 9:00, and the convention opened at 10:00.
The Macomb precinct delegates all received their notification of the convention schedule from the county clerk, a Democrat, with the correct information. But all Oakland delegates were sent notification from their county clerk, a Republican, telling us that registration began at 12:30, and the convention began at 1:00.
Obviously, the false info did not originate with the party, since the Macomb clerk got the right info. The only conclusion we can draw is that Brooks Paterson's GOP stooges engaged in a sneaky attempt to sabotage our convention.
Nonetheless, most of the delegates got the right info from the party, and only a dozen or so missed the convention. By 1:00 we were just about done.
And we had a great convention. More than twice the expected number of precinct delegates showed up for the training session, and we heard treated to speeches from our congressman, the great Sander Levin, and from former Sec. of Transportation Rodney Slater.
