Brokaw just pointed out what HRC/Bill would have to do to be considered VP
Bill would have to 1) disclose where funding for his foundation has come from 2) Give up his lecture fees. There was one other but those were the two that really stood up. This isn't to say she will be VP but these would be conditions for her even to be considered.

1. That's what I've been arguing to my HRC supporter friends ...
There's NO WAY after all the secrecy that both Clintons will disclose
enough info for them to be considered FULLY vetted.

22. every single thing they have ever done or gotten will have to be
disclosed. the man who vetted Mondale's vp, Geraldine, said he is going to go over this with a toothbrush. everything or nothing.

20. I didn't say it was, I was implying that the msm is saying what has to be done to be legal and
above board, where the hell were they when cheney said he was the only one who could be vp and nominated himself? Where were they when any of this bushshit happened?

4. Yep. I think
Thom Hartmann is right that Obama must offer Hillary the nomination - even if they have agreed in advance that she WILL NOT take it. I hope this is exactly what will happen.

19. NIghtmare version of your scenario
B: "Ok, Hill, for the good of the party I'm going to ask you to be VP, and you say you're honored but feel that it is time to graciously step aside."

H: "Sure, and I'll campaign my heart out for you anyway. Just remember me when you're president."

B: "It's a deal"

B: "I hereby offer Hillary the VP spot"

H: "Thank you. I am honored. I accept."

23. www.americablog.com has several stories on its front page about

the man who is going to be vetting everyone and it is an exhaustive thing to go through. they will not be willing, IMHO, to be that transparent.

EDIT: they also have a story where the RNC is circulating a video today with Hillary talking about how only she and McCain are fit to be commander-in-chief. They have already begun to use her words.

26. She's the best endorsement McSheep is going to get.
I don't think they will want to be transparent either. Wouldn't that be a bit humiliating for a former president?
HRClinton eats up on the humiliation. I don't think Bill does.

10. I don't know how she could be the VP nominee
while the Republicans are running the ad with her saying "I'm ready, John McCain's ready, Obama has a speech". They began running that today - it just wouldn't work if the person they have singing McCain's praises is running against him.

This election is not about her.

She did not win today.

Stop with all of the talk about her.

she is not why I am involved in politics.

and about 5000 other things, because they are completely unqualified for the VP position.

25. If she got the VP slot, I think Bill would hand his foundation over...
to whoever he deems appropriate to run it and give up his association with it. He'd give up his lecture fees, too, IMO. This is his wife and if she wanted to be VP, he'd do whatever it'd take.

That's a big if, IMO, because I'm not confident Obama would offer it.
