1. Hey, no carts before the horses...
...that's a question that his team is likely considering, but it's a back of the table question until the nomination is sewn up. And there are many factors that will influence the choice.

2. The nominee usually names a VP candidate
just prior to the convention.

As far as my opinion of Howard Dean getting the nomination...

3. Wow, that would be VERY presumptious, don't you think?
Has any candidate ever done this prior to being nominated?

11. That's true. But I think it might be necessery.
We are going to positively have a nominee by April and we will be under full Rove attack by then. Picking a VP in say May would let us come close to doubling our campaigning ability. It would also possibly close any rift resulting from the emergence.

12. Yes...in 1976
Ronald Reagan ran against President Ford in the Republican primaries. It was desperately close. In an effort to sway the Pennsylvania delegation, Reagan announced that, if nominated, his choice for VP would be Pennsylvania's moderate republican senator Richard Schweiker.

17. Dean has said
that he's not going to be that presumptuous.

If and when he's nominated he will do so, just as others have.

20. We also were going to accept matching funds.
Your allowed to change strategy and I think it might be neccessery.

Patch party divide and get campaign help. Plus it would immediately put a new face on the campaign, that might be needed after the primaries.

4. If he even suggests a list,
we will know he's as arrogant as Bush.

6. Maybe he's waiting
until after it's clear he might win. Like, you know...all the other candidates are.

13. He keeps dangling that carrot so that he can
get what he wants so I wouldn't plan on finding out who his VP pick will be anytime soon. In an article after the Arizona debate he made a remark to the governor that she would make a great VP.

15. It would be an arrogant move that will turn non-supporters off. . .
. . .its stuff like this that takes supporters of other candidates and turns us completely off of Dean.

18. I am seeing Edwards more on the list now
My friend who supports Dean has been mentioning him for a while, I like the idea too. On Hollings, he is a good man but hes like 78 I think. Thats as old as Reagan was when he left office. Graham or Clark definely. Zinni I dont know too much about him honest.
