A plea to Hillary supporters not yet on board with Obama
We all know that Skinner has put a deadline on when we must all get behind Obama on this forum. I've been delighted and genuinely moved over the last few days as some of the staunchest Hillary supporters have announced their support for Obama, even as they were hurting over her loss. That means so much to all of us. And for all the talk of purges and pizza parties, I REALLY don't want to see that happen. No matter how vehemently I've disagreed with some of you--and there've been some incendiary battles going on--I still don't want to lose any of you as members of this online community.

So, here's my plea: if you're still grieving and angry over Hillary's loss, please take a break from this place for a couple of weeks. As much as (only a few, I hope) of you may want to go out in a blaze of glory because you're still upset, please don't. Step away, give yourself some time, and hopefully when that time has passed, you'll find yourself willing and able to support Obama. Then get your butts back here and help us beat McCain.

:hi:

We are, I hope, all on the same side come November.

2. I really hope and expect that there are VERY few that fit that bill.
I am strongly of the opinion that those who act that way were never REALLY "Hillary supporters" at all. I tend to think they merely pretended to be to stir the pot. And/or pretend to support McCain to make real Hillary supporters look bad.

Maybe I'm an optimist. That's my hope anyway.

4. Well, there's another thread going gangbusters right now by one of them.
She appears to be on a suicide mission.

3. Here's the choice
A man who worked tirelessly for women during his legislative career. Ptotects equal rights for women. Protects the right to choose for women.

Or you can pick a guy who divorced a woman who waited for years for his return from a Vietnam POW prison because she put on weight. HE cheated on her with a younger and richer woman before divorcing her, too. HE supports throwing out a woman's right to choose and supports Supreme Court Justices who believe women are not entitled to equal pay for equal work.

Pretty clear choice if you ask me.

5. One thing to think about...
I know there's been a lot of heat from this forum and just about everywhere else that talked about the primaries, including and especially from me.

But not from Obama himself. In my experience, Obama himself has been the rarest of rare in politics - a true gentleman. He refused to lose his cool this election, he refused to stoop to mudslinging and swiftboating, even at the cost of losing a primary or two and taking hits in the polls due to lost opportunity.

I hope you think about that and take an example from Obama, not just a bunch of net.idiots blowing off steam.
