Post Debate - Fox was more "Balanced" than CNN
This evening I saw news stories reporting on today's debate. I am shocked to say that Fox was actually more fair and balanced than CNN. On Fox, they showed the Various attacks on Dean from the other candidates, but also showed Dean's responses. On CNN, there was a Candy Crowley (Sp?) report on the debate and it showed the attack soundbites, but it didn't show any Dean response. There was also a report by Bill Scnieder (sp?) who reiterated the attacks, but did nothing to show Dean's side of the story.

What's going on - are we in Bizarro World? Fox actually "balanced" on a story?!!! And what's with Candy Crowley - she is a horrible reporter who can't report acurately on politics. Between Wolf, Howie Kurtz, Paula Zahn, Judy Woodruff and Candy Crowley, I detect a very strong republican bias. I think CNN is a Fox in Psuedo Liberal Media clothing.

1. Could it be that the Foxbots want Dean to be the nominee?

4. Could it be that the Corporate News Network wants Kerry or Clark?
Think about what you just said. "It's a Rovian conspiracy that a news show actually presented a balanced journalistic segment."

Whoa. And the weirdest thing about it is that it's not completely ridiculous.

But note that very few Fox watchers know shit about Dean, and most blindly hate him anyway and will continue to do so no matter what -- simply because he's a Dem in the news who trashes Bush.

Meanwhile, quite a few Democratic voters still make the mistake of watching the Corporate News Network.

14. Naw...that would be illogical, if Fox wants Dean to win they..
would minimize the attacks and show only what was favorable to Dean.
It is obvious to me that CNN in kohouts with the DLC is trying desperately to derail the Dean bandwagon.

2. Bartcop on Candy
Here is what the ever quotable Bartcop has to say:

"how does Candy Crowley fit up Bush's ass?

And why has CNN assigned her to report on Democrats who clearly disgust her?"

5. I talked to her at the Presidential debate in Albuquerque.
(The Kucinich rally was right next to where she was parked herself and her crew and she ate dinner.) She seemed totally INSULTED that she would have to cover a Democratic debate. And she didn't bother getting interviews or finding out things. I saw her looking at some notes several times, and my guess is that she had her remarks all prepared before the debate ever started. I was there about two hours before the rally, putting out balloons and putting up the huge signs, and finding parking places for people.GRRRR.

And I read on DU that CNN showed everyone's ad but Kucinich's. True?

7. Fox also mentioned Edwards more often.
CNN was totally pimping for Lieberman today, which I found weird.

10. This is what's happening with the media whores IMHO
They are trying to choose our candidate! Here's how:

CNN is owned by AOL and AOL is Dean's biggest corp contributer.
Why? Because as a Corporation they want bush to win...so they push Dean because Rove wants him to win...at least he used to. Maybe they will have second thoughts.

The same for Faux! None of their commentators say anything negative about Dean (refuse to acknowledge Clark) and chant their mantra, "Dean is the front runner! Dean is the front runner!" Look at all the attention they gave Dean in the debate. I smell something.

Crowley is one of the literally biggest whores on TV! I'll never forgive her for her bias reporting on the Clinton scandal and the 2000 election. She was such an ass to Gore. Judy wasn't much better.
I was soooo upset when I found her back reporting on the Democratic Primaries. What did we do to deserve Pig Nose again?

However...that was the best debate yet. We actually got to discuss the issues.

11. Wallace has been pretty good
it's apparent that he doesn't follow 'The Memo'... and he's locked up a big contract out of the gate so he can basically tell Faux to fu** off if they try to steer him right. Plus Faux knows their sunday show was a miserable failure with a right winger like Tony Snow on the big network, and has done a lot better with a more balanced Wallace. Plus unlike Snow, he doesn't trot out Fox News Whore #1 Brit Hume to co-interview guests.

12. No not really...
Balanced would have been if they mentioned that this was the first debate that focused on the issues, and that it was not about attacking Howard Dean. They would have reported that Edwards and Kucinich performed the best.

They would have reported that Edwards had the most substantial information and policies. They would have reported that Dean and Gephardt seemed to be playing to the crowd and avoided the questions. They would have reported that Lieberman and Kerry acted like immature politicians who are so dissapointed in their failing candidacies that they could do little other than try to gimmick themselves into the minds of voters. They would have covered Carol Moseley-Braun's great demeanor, and substantive policy proposals. They would have mentioned that Kucinich performed very well, but continues to be a one issue candidate that believes all of the other issues will just magically work if we get the troops out of Iraq.

What they did, was turn this debate into another "All About Dean" debate and give both sides to the few Dean arguments which were a minor part of this debate.

13. FOX shows Dean's responses because FOX viewers disagree with Dean
so by showing more of Dean, Fox is in turn, supporting the Republican cause. They don't show Clark because Clark has the military record to call all the chicken hawks a bunch of pussies. :D

I'm stuck between Clark and Dean... Clark can take Bush on better with the military experience issues, Dean can do better with the domestic agenda. IF ONLY THEY COULD MORPH INTO THE SUPER CANDIDATE! :D

17. FAUX was back to their old bashing again
This morning Faux came back to their mission and bashed Dean again with a fair and balanced analysis of Dean by representatives of the Lieberman and Gephardt's campaign.
