1. I think EVERY mom in America who feels that way and can do so - should make one
Edited on Wed Jun-18-08 02:51 AM by calimary
of these in her own words - about her own precious offspring whose life she will NOT hand over to john mcsame's continued bush-wars. I'm thinking about doing one, myself. "You can't have him, either."

Wouldn't that be something if all of a sudden there were dozens, if not hundreds of these popping up on YouTube all of a sudden? A whole series of "You can't have him, either." OR "You can't have her, either."

17. That would be so powerful if every mother did that and their kid need not be newborn.

19. I love that idea. There is nothing more precious or tangible than the love
Of a mom for her kids.

2. I felt the same way during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
My 18 year old was a baby about that size then.

I just got a strong "Mommysense" about that conflict while watching tanks and other army equipment roll by in nearly endless procession.

I told a few people, this is going to go on and on until my baby boy could be drawn into George1's war. People thought I was over-reacting.

It did happen, but not in a precisely linear progression.

5. Our son is 4
And ever since he was born, my husband has made teasing comments about how proud he'll be when Jr. joins the military. He knows how I'm going to respond every time: "Over my dead body. NO SON OF MINE is going to be cannon fodder for Georgie's wars."

I have nothing against the military as long as I feel I can trust the commander in chief. But of course that's the problem here, isn't it?

8. Damn straight they're gonna hate it
Emotional appeals to a mother's desire to protect her children are their stock in trade ("terrorists, boo!"). It must really piss them off to see their own weapon used against them like that.

Your statement--security moms/dads--could be the name of the movement of all parents to make similar videos.

Hands off!

23. Cindy Sheehan felt the same way.
Hopefully he won't join the military if his mom says no.

However the men in my family didn't ask their moms before they joined.

Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines, they have served in all branches proudly.
