I'm not saying that somebody's not out there, but they are promoting the dickens out of this thing. I mean, they — they have — they have highlighted these things, and they talk about it a lot. And then they shoot it down, of course.

But, you know, I would be interested in seeing, besides them, you know, exactly what people are doing out there.

10. I got to meet Fred before the primaries

My company was hosting a meet & greet for the community on some of the projects we are working on (municipal & utility projects). Fred and his handlers showed up unexpectedly.

The funny thing is, he didn't want to speak and he stayed in the shadows during the event. When a few of my co-workers were in the food line, we got a chance to talk to him. If there ever was an empty suit, this is the guy. Totally different than the persona's that he shows on T.V. Quiet and completely confounded when he's off the script. Many people came away that night saying "wow, this guy really doesn't want to be President - he's just being pushed into it".

It makes sense, because he was being touted as the "compromise" candidate for Republicans and the closest to St. Ronnie Raygun. They thought his macho "District Attorney Arthur Branch" character would bring in all the votes they needed. But somewhere along the way, his backers plan backfired in a big way.
