Are you serious: Effective Campaign finance reform w/media consolidation and no fairness doctrine?
Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 02:07 PM by Skwmom
Would someone please explain to me how there can possibly be effective campaign finance reform with a handful of corporations controlling the vast majority of our media and no more fairness doctrine? Trying to implement effective campaign finance reform before tackling these other two issues is like putting the cart before the horse.

If you want to have the corporate media and their paid talking heads be the sole deciders of future elections (with their non-chosen candidate being unable to get out his message or combat media memes) then by all means continue to push for campaign finance reform without fixing media consolidation and the fairness doctrine.

Obama would be an idiot if he agreed to public financing. Joe Scarborough and the rest of the high paid talking idiots are just upset b/c Obama will have a chance to combat their spin.

that ANY campaign finance reform will be effective without first tackling media consolidation and the fairness doctrine.

4. Would it take an act of Congress to bring back the fairness doctrine or...
could it be done with an executive order?
