Poll question: What part of the country should the VP hail from?

(Feel free to define these regions as you like.)

1. How about America?
Why we make such a big ass deal out of where the VP comes from plays right into the rich wing plan.

Gotta have someone who can cary the south, Has to be able to pull in the Christian vote.

All I care about is that Obama picks the best person for the job. Someone who can execute the duties of the office, restore some dignity to the position and be ready to take the oath should the unthinkable happen.

9. Obama/Romney '08!!!
Really, I don't think that location is as big as the stances on the issues. I think that if Mr. Obama had two people to chose from, each equal on the issues/gender/etc. I think the best bet would be someone form the South to help make those states even more competitive.

2. I Like the Western States,
but it's part of a longer term strategy.

I believe a solid blue Midwest is going to be the key this year.

4. Other
The most important characteristic the veep must have, imo, is the strength of character and integrity to not give in to political powers, to carry out Obama's vision of how to lead this nation. In the event that President Obama should become ill or temporarily incapacitated, Obama will need a veep who will carry out the duties as temp Pres the same as Obama would do, regardless of the pressures put upon her/him.

I may be wrong, but I can't help but believe that this is one of the top considerations of Senator Obama when choosing who will be his VP.

8. How about any
I have no real preference at this point. I just think the VP should bring qualities that strengthen any real weaknesses Obama may have as far as "getting votes."

He really does have a weakness with women who are very savvy with voting. Remember the League of Women Voters? Women have a clearer picter of personal voting power than many men. There is a true weakness here and one that can not be fully measured as women are active but often private about voting behavior. We should not underestimate the power of withholding votes.

Is there a weakness with "white men" that can only be recovered by putting a man who is unappealing to women on the ticket (Webb, Biden, or Nunn)? That is quite a gamble. I am not an expert on the voting behavior of white men and in fact have more insight on women, but I think it would be best to look beyong geography and toward relationships with constituencies to find this balance.

I'd hate to see a Senator taken from our delegation. Maybe we will see a surprise. That is pretty much what I am counting on.
