5. There's a line I've seen among anti-abortion conservatives

Particularly, but not exclusively, Catholic conservatives. They see a nation's strength as coming primarily - or even exclusively - from its birth rate and population, and object to abortion, family planning, etc., because it causes people in other countries to "outbreed" the US. Quite a few I've talked to explicitly think that legalized abortion is a Muslim or European plot to let its population decline so that they can invade, because after all they'll have a larger population and can have a larger army because of it.
