Poll question: Candidates and Advisors
Which candidate relies the most on his/her advisors?

I'm sure there will be lots of interesting spin here, but it's an honest question and I'm curious to see who takes the cake here at DU

Spin away!

Here are the candidates in no particular order

1. NFI
You never really know if what's coming out of their mouths is them or their advisors. You can deduce it, when they make sharp turns one way or another, but a well-handled candidate will be undetectable.

It seems that the mistakes that Clark has made come at times he's let himself be "handled". I think he's learned from the early stumbles, tho, and is in control of the campaign now.

5. My opinion
First off, let me preface this by saying I don't think relying on one's advisors is a bad thing - in most cases (clearly Bush would be a good example of someone who needs to rely too heavily on advisors since he needs more time on the treadmill).

However, I think as the person with the least political experience, General Clark is atleast currently relying the most on help from his political allies and advisors. I was going to say Kerry at first, as he comes in a close second IMHO (which I find bizarre - considering how smart and experienced he is). It seems after a shaky start Clark seems to have more of a grip on his campaign - which is a true sign of leadership. I still don't have a sense yet of his personal political instincts though - as he has a history of being very coy.

Yes, this is one reason I like Dean over Clark, although I still think Clark would be a perfect VP, giving him time to hone his political skills. I think Dean has Clintonian (if not better) political instincts. He consults, and listens, but I get much more of a sense of decisiveness, boldness, and willing risk-taking from Dean.
