Is the Slime backfiring? 33,000+ NEW - yesterday alone...

In David Plouffe's video, he says that yesterday alone 100,000 people contributed to the Obama campaign. Over a third of those people - 33,000+ people - were first time contributors.

Even he said that was "remarkable". Is it possible the McCain videos are lining Obama's pockets as people, disgusted with his insistence on minimizing and "tabloidizing" America's real issues, flock to Obama's site to donate?

Here at DU we seem to love a good freak out, but it seems to me that someone's raked in money and support in direct response to these ads, and it's not McCain.

7. I don't necessarily agree

That's been running all month. I donated awhile back (4x in fact!) for it. I can see how it would inflate the #'s overall for the month, but it probably only partially accounts for the apparent spike yesterday.

Course as we aren't privvy to all the numbers at this point, we'll never know.
