Iraqgate, Plamegate, Torturegate, Smeargate
Current (major) Bush scandals, as posted noted earlier today by, IIRC, liberalnproud.

These "gates" should be headline news everyday. You know they would be, if it were Clinton.

So why aren't they? How does the Chimp skate free? Who determines the topic of conversation? How do we get them to cover these stories?

1. add Chalabigate and Medicaregate.
A perfect record of incompetence and criminality. And Bush has the nerve to run for re election.

5. let's remember major democratic scandals:
Edited on Tue Aug-24-04 09:45 PM by unblock
- boasting about the internet

- not tidying up when leaving the white house

- firing staff when entering the white house

- losing money in real estate

- looking funny in a helmet

- one of many furloughed prisoners actually committed a crime

- forgetting to pay nanny's social security tax

- having a wacky brother

bottom line is that democrats have to be PERFECT. ANY little thing is blown up into a major scandal, even if they have to lie to manufacture the scandal.

republicans can get away with murder, violating international law, violating the constitution, lying, flip-flopping, committing major crimes, pardonning those who they can't get off, rehiring the convicted felon, election crimes, and so on.

fair and balanced. liberal media. mmm hmm.

8. You forgot the "sock stuffing" of document copies by Sandy Berger
I drawn the line right there. I can't vote for those that stretch the argyles.

Oh wait, he was not convicted of anything was he? A smear in the socks is worth two in the Bush apparently.

Oh, never mind. No story. No coverage. No apology.

that he hasn't been called to task for anything.

We have to call the media to perform.

The talking heads/over paid pseudo celebrities are no where near what working class hero journalists used to be. They used to do their research. Now, they're utterly clueless of anything but their own fleeting fame. It's really sad. There is no way in hell that these swift boat bozos would have gotten a nanosecond of recognition if anyone sought to get more than one source of intell. The facts substantiate Kerry's story entirely. It's pathetic.

Think Challabi and curveball for reference. Oh we've just killed unaccountable innumerable mostly innocent Iraqis, labeling them all unequivocably as insurgents, solely on two idiots testimony.

I'm disgusted.

I mean, it's not like anyone you know personally was tortured, was it? You buncha bleeding hearts!

9. Halliburton investigations and fines barely a blip on radar too
even though there is war profiteering, corporate fraud, violations of federal law against companies doing business with terrorist regimes and documented lies by VP about his compensation and influence in the bid process.

And will we ever hear any more about the Supreme Court case about Cheney'e energy meetings.

Many horrible, horrible pictures. Perhaps Ribbongate will be more PG-13 for TV news.

17. Yeah, but the flow of pictures stopped
so the story died.

Now come on, we all know the perfect media story. Husband with a pretty pregnant wife kills her, removes the fetus, performs a Satanic Ritual after which the fetus is eaten, all caught on video tape for our viewing pleasure.

You get the drift. Unfortunately, the only video footage in torturegate is illegal because it has to be considered kiddie porn under the law.

18. Well, the beheading video magically cauterized the flow of images from
Abu Ghraib. Funny how that worked out. We know for a fact there are hundreds more, many "far worse" according to congress. Are we ever gonna see 'em??? I wouldn't bet money on it.

19. PNACgate, too. Most Americans have still

never heard of PNAC and how its plan corresponds to what Bush* has done.

Remember when we were excited that "Nightline" was doing a story on PNAC?

Remember the reporter smiling and joking with the PNAC guy about how "some people think this is some kind of conspiracy theory"?

:grr:

20. Yes it's all very amusing, until someone gets hurt
Such as 1000 Americans and 10,000 Iraqis.

PNAC=OSP=WMDgate=Iraqgate - One big American hegemonic LIE, brought to you by DICK Cheney and the neo-cons Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith, etc.

23. I act as an individual, which I think we must do -- but it's frustrating..
we need power, money and influence. We may see no improvement in this (and many other areas) unless the great wheel turns, as it might, as the enormous numbers of Gen Y rise. They give me hope.
